Hi, I am new to this forum and have not read any of the existing threads. So if my question is going over old ground, please just ignore it.
I have read that retrovirous insertions in the human DNA genome demonstrate that our fleshly body shares a common ancestor with other primates. I have not seen this rebutted.
However, the Bible gives lists of father/son combinations that if you add them up, indicates Adam lived less than 10,000 years ago.
Two paths that I know of have been used to resolve this difficulty, the ground, dirt, whatever that God made Adam from was an existing animal and God simply modified it as necessary to create a suitible body for our human spirit. The other path is to ignore or dismiss the evidence for common decent and say science has it all wrong.
Neither of these paths seems very sound to me but I have not come across any alternatives that seem viable. So I am in the "God did it but I do not know how God did it" camp.
