Ordination/Licensing

Hey everyone I have a question for you. This past summer I did a paid internship with my home church and was basically the interim youth pastor for the summer while we were looking for a new guy to come in and take over. My pastor said that since I served there for the first time that they would be the ones to "license" me at the next deacon ordination service. We are a Southern Baptist church and I was just wondering what all it means to be licensed by a church? Thanks

I was licensed by a church in Virginia that belonged to the SBC. It really depends how the law of your state read and what your church wants you to do. In VA I couldn't preform marriages or baptisms. In AL by state law I can do pretty much was a ordained pastor can.
