Orange Ribbon

It's been popping up all over my neighborhood and I finally decided to do some research about it and I guess it's speaking out against gun violence? Is that true? Does anybody else have it where you're from?

I've never heard of orange ribbons nor seen any, but if they are linked to gun violence that's not surprising: guns are banned in my country. We no crazy

Pretty sure that you still have criminals in your country though, and criminals always get their hands on things they aren't supposed to.

Oh yeah, definitely. They really like using knives or driving cars into crowds. The latter happened just recently again.

(If you are interested in numbers: in my country get about 155 people killed by guns per year, compared to 2737 people killed by knives).

Really? How do you know that? I hope it's not statistics. No offense or anything but to me those aren't based on good solid facts.

These statistics might not be accurate, but considering how rarely we read of shootings in our newspaper the numbers seem to be believable at least.

There is sadly no English version of that article, sorry. Also, I had been rather surprised if you were able to read German Not because of any special needs but because it's not your language.
(May I ask what kind of special needs you got even? I have never noticed anything in your posts that would give me a hint).

Oh that it explains it lol it was German and I don't have anything particular. I'm just mentally challenged is all. May I say though that you have really good English and if you didn't say anything about being German I never would have noticed that you were from Germany.

Thank you! I am not gonna treat you like a 'mentally challenged' person though, April. Since you got nothing particular it might just be your own feeling (or even the result of the words of cruel kids in your childhood) and it has always been a pleasure to talk to you.
And even if you ever need a 2nd explanation it doesn't mean you're 'mentally challenged'. I'm slow on the uptake myself sometimes.

Thanks, but I was officially diagnosed as a child and put in special classes. The other kids didn't make it easier for me though.

Okay okay, fine. But I know two people who had to take special classes because they supposedly had ADHD and some 10 years later they were absolutely normal, very nice and calm people.

Thanks but I am normal,.. I just learn things differently and at a slower rate and some things I just don't understand that's all.
