That alone should be sufficient for the Republican Senate to remove him from office and bar him from ever running for a Federal office again. The Republicans need to rid themselves of Trump.
Believe me, at least half the party wants him gone permanently. That includes me and other #nevertrump conservatives who have been criticizing his administration from the right for four years. At this point he's a millstone in the GOP. He's a loser who attempted an insurrection to overturn the election he lost. If you don't think there are plenty of Republicans who want to get rid of him you're spending too much time in the Trump echo chamber.
I second that. As a lifelong Republican, I want Trump gone and that's why I voted against him in the election. I want every single one of the Yes-man Republican politicians who support him either voted out or forced to resign. Trumpism is an anathema to me and I want it eliminated from the Party.
