Opinion Poll of Utmost Importance

This is a poll spawned from several Foru.ms RPG members that would like to see the RPG section made, possibly, into a Christians-only section again. We understand that Christians are not to form bubbles of exclusion. That's not what this is about. This is about keeping one of the only Christian play-by-post RPG forums out there. To be completely honest, without being Christian only, this RPG section is not special at all..

We're not entirely sure who to go to about this yet (We think rules discussion), but we figure we need some evidence of support for this possible change. That's what this poll is about. If we do not get the support we desire, we will not press the change.

I support this movement. I've never had any problem with non-Christians on this site, but I will not let this highly-populated sanctuary for Christian writers be opened up when the non-Christians have the ENTIRE internet to roleplay in. They can request an open thread if they want to, and I say we should welcome them in most situations, but I do not want this place to go from catering to Christians to catering to Non-Christians like the rest of the site has.

I agree with Dave. I support opening this site up to non-Christians, but I'd rather be able to write what I want to write without someone hostile toward Christianity mocking me for it. Not that it's happened, but still. In the Teens section, it happens with threads all the time--someone starts a thread to ask a serious theological question, and some atheist will barge in and rant about "inconsistencies in the Bible" and "how dumb Christianity is." I'd rather that didn't happen here. They can mock our faith; they shouldn't be allowed to mock our stories, too.

I love this place. I've met some awesome people here. One of the happiest times of my life happened here in CFRPG, one year ago. I don't want to see this place die the same way the rest of the site is dyig... It's hard for me to put my thoughts to words, but I think if we succumb to the rest of the site, it will just be a matter of time...

I wonder... If it comes to it, will we stay or go? And if we go, will we be scattered across cyberspace, or find a new place?

I think "Christian-Only" is the wrong term for it, personally.

Look, For whatever reason, Erwin has decided not to have the site be Christian Forums anymore. However, he has left each individual section available to its active members. Which means we have free reign over whatever we please to do.

Therefore, my proposal is that it is not a "Christians-only" RPG section, but rather we should rename it Christian RPG. That way non-Christians don't feel excluded, but they clearly know what they are getting themselves into. Then if they wish to have a non-Christian RPG section, they are entitled to do so.

So there's my thoughts. What say ye?

I vote no, even though I never RP. Yes, you can have Christian-based games....and use the [CO] tags if you REALLY don't want non-Christian members playing.

In thread titles and such, make it obvious the game is Christian-based.

If anyone bashes your faith, make use of the report button. No need to lock people out.

No. Leave this section only and put [CO] if you want it to be Christians Only. I personally put in every RPG that I hold the right to boot out troublemakers of any belief

As I am sure has been stated above, this site is was made as a Christian only site in the beginning.

There is no need to add other people to join because there are other sites for that. This site is for christians, other sites are for non-christians, and everyone has their own niche.

We shouldn't mess with it.

Not like its gonna make a difference anyway.-_- I'll bet no one's gonna even take notice of this thread, much less do anything about it. Could be worse, I guess, since the other people who voted no and the only non-Christian didn't RP at all.

Which is why this issue won't be resolved...because the major people on CF....*groan*....on 4U aren't here READING THIS and figuring out the population DOESN'T LIKE WHAT THEY'VE DONE.

But I could be wrong...we could be a minority in disagreeing this new form of CF is a good idea...who knows....

Well, perhaps it is just me, but I've noticed that the thread has regained much of it's Christian flair, although the name was dropped. I still feel that our section should be renamed Christian RPG, but otherwise I have no vote.
When the site was Christian Forums, I was perfectly content to keep this section as a "Christians only" section. However, now that it is no more Christian in name, it does not seem appropriate to say "This section is 'Christian only'." To me, the best solution is to make this section Christian RPG, which is not exclusive, but is certainly not all inclusive.
So there are my thoughts. As for my vote, I waive that right. Whichever is decided I will support.

I loved it when it was called christianrpg....Thats why I checked out the
site in the first place. I would never have even bothered with checking it
out if it had been called Foru.ms 3 years ago. I think, if nothing else, the
RPG section should be changed back to the way it was. And called Christian RPG
again.
