Hey everyone,

I hope I'm not divulging too much information in saying this, but I'm one of a few people that has kept touch with her "post-CF." I know one of her friends in 'real life' and he has kept me updated.

About a year ago she began to get cataracts in both eyes that have prevented her from seeing e-mails, reading PMs, or anything to do with vision. Because many e-mails and such she receives may contain personal/sensitive information, she declined to have her caretaker read them to her, as is typical of her great prudence that we all know and love.

She had surgery two or three weeks ago, and I got word of it when I was abroad, and a group of friends and I prayed for her. She is doing extremely well in recovery and she may, I repeat, may, be able to get back to us all at some time. But I can only imagine the backlog she has in e-mails and other messages.

As for CF, who knows if she will return. I myself am only recently returning for a little bit of participation in OBOB from time to time. The events of two years ago here on CF really broke our hearts.

If I ever establish contact with her again (which I think is probable, some day) I will send your best to her and I am sure she has you in mind. I for one know she has never stopped praying for me - and I am sure you all are in her thoughts and prayers. I love her and miss her too around here. Let's pray for her quick recovery and extraordinary energy for her to return to her workload and correspondence, not just for our sakes, but for all the people whose lives she touches with her gentle wisdom!

Thank you so much for sharing this Irenaeus. I think I was considering her absence here with blinders on. I assumed it was due to the angst that has occurred over the years, especially following 777. I have been praying for peace for all those that have not been participating due to all of that.

Knowing that she also has been dealing with physical issues as well, breaks my heart. She truly is a wonderful and holy soul and I do hope that her healing continues well. I will add this to my prayers.

While I hope for the return of many that are deeply missed here, I recognize that they can only return if and when they chose to and/or God calls them. We have lot's of good people here right now, more good people would be welcome.

It truly is a blessing to have you back periodically. You have always been beyond your years in wisdom, understanding and eloquence. Thanks for joining us when you are able, you are a true gift to us all.

She is beloved and missed by many here.......as so many of you are. I doubt she realizes just how much we relied on her and the orthodoxy she brought to OBOB.

I will keep her in my prayers and continue to pray that she one day is able to come back to OBOB.

She was always able to "correct" and stand firm in the most loving way............I tell ya.........she is truly filled with the love of Christ, for it is a gift that not many have.

I do miss you all, terribly.

There are a few reasons for my absence:

Some of you may know that I had a viral infection in my eyes that wouldn't quit. It was a severe trauma to both eyes. This triggered the onset of cataracts. I recently had surgeries on both and my eyes are recuperating.

There are other reasons as well. I do hope to visit OBOB once in a while but I don't think I will visit often. I do love you all but OBOB just isn't what it used to be. We spent years creating OBOB as an independent and truly Catholic place and then suddenly, in a flash, it was gone. Does CPR still exist? I guess not.
