Weather forecaster in the Air Force. Currently serving in Germany, but I have orders to Ft. Campbell, to support the 101st Airborne.Thank you for your support! It really means the world to us.
Don't worry, you're correct. I'm a truck driver in the Army. How about yourself?
Meh, I think the most dangerous part of my current assignment is the hard desk underneath my constantly-bobbing head. I never thought I'd miss being out on the roads.Weather forecaster in the Air Force. Currently serving in Germany, but I have orders to Ft. Campbell, to support the 101st Airborne.
In other words, you are nearer danger than I. So I thank you for that.
Skylark, since you posted yours...
...YEAH!
I didn't mean to sound flippant when I posted "just because." I'd just been listening to the song by Rich Mullins, and was so moved by it that no words seemed adequate. I hoped that others would also be blessed by listening to it.
Who is singing the song in the video that you posted?
wowSandstorm season is officially here. Yes, the entire sky was that color for a couple of hours today. The pic hasn't been edited at all.
It actually was a bit more orange, but the pic turned out pink for some reason. It was a deep orange though, so I guess it's not that far off. In any case, it was the worst sandstorm I've seen since I've been back over here. I'm sure there's more to come.wow
I'm used to seeing more orangish hues. that looks intense.
Dang. Do you have to tarp vehicles before it hits or just do extra maintenance during and/or after the storm? It actually was a bit more orange, but the pic turned out pink for some reason. Wow! I didn't know you were in the army. Thank you for your sacrifice.Maintenance checks are done on the vehicles at least on a weekly basis, regardless of the weather. Most of the vehicles I drove on my last deployment didn't seem to be bothered much by the excess sand. We'd just hose them down at the wash rack and be on our way. I got stuck running a post office this time around, and I can honestly say the the A/C units are most definately NOT sand-friendly. I took the filter out of one of them to clean it and it had half the freaking desert in it. I miss doing convoys.
