  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

pack n' play with the bassinet insert and changing table. It also has this cool thing with annoying music and sounds-- but the greatness of a light with a timer  .

My 2 year old is in the cosleeper (with the rails up and matress down) - and will need to be in there for at least another 6 months. I went to go check the price on these pack n' plays- and my parents bought it for me :)

I set it up last night- andput the lambskin on the little changing table, and slid it up next to my bed. I practiced the light so that I can do the timer in the dark- so I can see to latch baby on in the middle of the night those first few weeks.

I think it's helping me come out of denial a little....I think I have actually felt little twinges of excitement:clap:

Anything y'all have seen or bought recently for baby or yourselves??

we haven't bought anything, but the baby's room is set up now, we put my daughter's new bed together this morning and moved the crib into place at the base of the stairs, the master bedroom is the only room on the second floor. So now all we need is a mattress for the crib and we are set, as well as finding out the gender but that will hopefully be on Tuesday. Then we will see about getting things for baby.

I haven't even gone to register yet... much less bought anything... maybe I am still in denile... though I don't know how I can be with him wiggling arround the way he does... I can't believe how quickly time has gone by... 3 months to go... and I haven't even registered at the hospital, or gone by to look at it... I had wanted to take classes this time, but it is probly too late to do that...

the hospital where i deliver gives me all that stuff!!
I often don't like their stuff....and it took me an entire day to get a peri cold pad last time I was there...so I am just going to circumvent the system, and bring everything I want. I am also bringing my witch hazel wipes and suppositories...which also for some reason took forever in showing up.

I had really great labor nurses- and really wretched floor nurses. They were very annoying. The time before- it was reversed... I have not so great labor nurses and really awesome floor nurses (my main nurse for the two days I was there had both of her babies at home, and was so supportive of me- and even left the order for me to be left alone ALL night:thumbsup: )

I also just always feel better if I have all of the supplies I need on hand at home, in case my baby decides to come quickly. I have had a couple short labors - and so I like to have all that I need on hand. (I am not going to drive to the hospital while I am pushing-- and I am not going to call the EMS, unless there is an emergency -they have about a 2 minute response time to our house. ) I would just have the baby at home and then go in to have me and baby checked out.

LOL! I am the Queen of Denial! I am only now kind of accepting that I am actually going to have a baby. You should still be able to take the hospital classes- if you think those are what you would like.

I did actually manage to go over and pre-register at the hospital...and then went up to the new mommmy ward and got a bunch of attitude from the head nurse:mad: I wanted to see if there was a waiver to sign allowing me to carry my baby in arms through the hallway to go be weighed. It is the stupidest, most ridiculous policy I have ever heard of. The nurses actually treated me like I was an imbecile for even asking....

I just sent in my registration papers and registared for a VBAC class as well as the annual O'Baby conference my hospital has, we missed the one for my daughter as it was held at the end of March and she was born mid March.

My MIL is coming with me to my ultrasound on Tuesday, As is my daughter.

It isn't too late. My hospital wanted me in my third trimester when I took them (of course, I didn't take them) which is right around what you are approaching. I would call and check on it...you might be surprised! :) We were going to go see the hospital but there were no appointments open for when we would be in town and they wouldn't allow me to come in on another day :sigh:

Maybe y'all already saw this in the general parenting section, but my teacher's aide is generously giving me her pack n' play and although I haven't seen it yet, she said it has the changing table, bassinet insert and also a tent thingy that can go over it for when we go camping each summer! I'm pretty excited, since we have a small apartment. So far, that's all I have other than "The Baby Book" by Dr. Sears that a kind lady gave me.

He'll prolly hate me for it when he's older but.. I'm so addicted to clothes with like.. bear ear hoods or.. the puppy dog hat with floppy ears. :D And I just saw a hat on the Babies R Us site that looks like a chicken! Ahhh!

Mom wants to get one of those pack n play's for down at the house so he'd have somewhere to crash when I don't feel like climbing two flights of stairs to get back to my nest! So far we haven't but figure my brother's old moses basket will suffice if we can't get one in time.

Ah, I forgot I had wanted to get a sheepskin too.. *makes mental note* My brother used one for the longest time even past infancy.

Its funny you ask, my family asked me to register since we're having a little baby shower next month.... and I'm getting frustrated because all I want to register for are things like "Pampers sensitive wipes" and baby wash, lanisoh breast cream, baby hangers.... and NONE of that stuff is on the website because its too small. I didn't want to have to go to the store to register and drag my two year old, I want to sit here at home and do it online. :p

I've enjoyed buying cloth diapers for her :)
