CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Prayers please for Laura's son Joshua, who is in hospital with rather acute tonsilitis at the moment, and prayers that laura will be given the strength and comfort she needs at this time also

I have read though this thread, and I am praying for each of you.
My requests:
The office manager at my church sent out an email today asking for prayers for her niece, Tessa. Tessa is four years old, and the doctors think she has pneumonia... They're still waiting to get the results of her chest x rays. Please also say a prayer for Tessa's mom, Kim, who is extremely worried and has not slept in two days because she has to hold Tessa upright so that the little girl can sleep. Please also remember Pam, who is Tessa's aunt, who has requested the prayers. Being an aunt myself, I know I'd be scared to death if my niece were this sick.

On another board UberLutheran has announced that he has learned that he has a tumor. Surgery has been scheduled for Thursday Aug 23.
Cancer tends to run in his family -- both sides of his family -- and he is concerned that it may prove to be malignant.

I was diagnosed with major depression and social anxiety almost 2 months ago, spent 6 days in the mental hospital. I'm currently on medication and in therapy but could still use some prayers. I'm also having some struggles with my spirituality and need prayers for that, as well. Thanks all.
