.. I'll be honest. I think people put too much of an emphasis on the birthing process. Women all over the world die in childbirth and there is nothing glorious about it. If I would have lived in another time or country, I would have died in childbirth. I'm very happy that I got to come home healthy with a healthy baby. I'm also glad that I'm going in to have another c-section in two 1/2 weeks. If it wasn't for modern medicine, I'd never know my beautiful little girl and I'd never get to have this new little girl.

Amen. I honestly think some women look at it as some kind of competition, too.

1st - Emergency c-section (almost splash and slash. The anesthesiologist barely made it in time. Huge scar and baby was cut on the butt) after an external cephalic version attempt so I could have a natural vaginal delivery. My water broke, the cord prolapsed, and they lost the baby's heartbeat.

2nd - Scheduled c-section with scar revision after baby was once again partial footling breech and wouldn't turn.

3rd - Will likely be partial footling breech again and scheduled c-section.

I had an emergency c-section - we did attempt a natural birth but I was diagnosed with pre-e two days prior to my due date so they wanted to induce. I was having too many contractions for them to use medications, but they were too weak for me to be in real labor. They attempted a foley bulb induction to ripen my cervix, but about an hour in I nearly passed out, we lost the baby's heartbeat and the midwife advised me that I should take the c-section at that point, so that is what we did. Recovery was not bad for me, but I am definitely hoping for a VBAC next time (I cannot imagine not being able to lift my first baby because I had to recover from the birth of my second)
