Very distracting! I kept bending the IV thingie in my arm every time I moved making the machine beep very loud beeps until a nurse came and pushed a button . I hated that thing...So if you can avoid IVs I would.

My BP was too high for me to have a natural birth, so I got some pain meds and an epi three minutes before he was born. I glad cause he was soo big I needed an episiotomy and got 8-10 stitches. It wasn't how I hoped it would go, but I'm glad I did what they said. My pre-e had me pretty darn close to having a seizure if my body got too stressed.

You know, I watched "Laugh and Learn About Childbirth" because it was the only birthing DVD I could find, and I wasn't that impressed. I had more luck with reading.For you natural laborers:

Not from me, sometimes I would watch A Baby Story on tv but it would just freak me out instead of calm me![]()
