Whew...been out in the open forums (news, GA) for too long today. Gotta cool down before I start drinking my haterade.

Somebody gimme some scripture, some words from Jesus or something. I am amazed by the number of ppl out in those forums who have a christian icon who don't rely on the Word of God for their worldview.

:prayer: "Heavenly father, please watch over your flock and help the lambs that are straying away from your word. Help those that feel there are other ways to Heaven besides through you. Help those who are too much attached to this world. Help me to remain strong and not act or say something I would regret about my fellow Christians. Guide me and tell me what to do, oh Lord"

[font=Arial, Helvetica]"The word of the Lord is right and true; he is faithful in all he does. The Lord loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of his unfailing love." (Psalm 33:4 and 5)

Psalm 25:4-5 KJV

I know how you are feeling, Kelly, I'm experiencing the same today.

It goes much better in their when there are a few Christians in their who TRY to follow scripture. When you, Gny, Brother Christman and others are there, I'm 'on fire'!

One of my fav. non-biblical quotes that keeps me going when faced with so many bitter, snide and cruel atheists and pagans:

"What can men do against such reckless hate?" King Theoden, LOTR

I just want to ask them, honestly. "What did God ever do to you to make you pick up this standard against him? What Christian harmed you in the past?" I firmly believe that these people are here fighting because they were somehow wronged (either purposefully or not) by some misguided Christian. I SERIOUSLY doubt they are on Jewish and Muslim forums fighting this fight.

Thanks, Kelly. I love God's Word...it sustains me daily. If only people would look at it like the best instruction book for them to follow. I don't know why but it's always been so cut and dried for me, I think people make it too complicated.
God Bless You!

Whew...gotta come back already....gonna sit down here in this big comfy chair, prop my feet up...listen to some Third Day....have a cup of coffee....open my bible...

"God, why am I compelled to go out there and battle, dispite the fact that I am at work right now and such activity would be frowned upon? If we are to do our work as if unto you, why can I not focus on my job, why do I need to battle with these that are blind to your love?"

so agree, i think the sad thing is that some who call themselves Christian seem to agree with nearly all the atheists say.
Christians themselves are telling other Christians to doubt Gods word, they say we can't trust our bibles today, just because they don't agree with the worlds view on things.
they seem to trust the world and what the atheists say more than our bibles.
this really does get me mad, and sad at the same time.
what hope has the world if they have these people teaching them in the name of Christianity.
why do people look to the world for the answers when they're in His word.

This is a prayer a lot of us could use around here lately. Thanks Kelly.:angel:

"The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ." - 2 Corinthians 10:4-5

i thank God for you people who have the knowledge and heart to go to GA. :pray:

I used to be a regular internet "debater" with aetheists, non-christians, and "christians" who believed in Carl Sagan more than the Bible. But I've found it impossible to keep up with, and not even worth the time. You make post, then come back the next day to see that your one post has illicited about 30 responses from non-aetheists and they used all sorts of word-twisting tactics to make your post sound like it makes no sense. So I've given up on internet debates and stuck to personal face-to-face debates. That way, people have to rely on logic and their own knowledge, instead of looking up "X" article written by "Y" scientist and then posting it on here as their proof that the Bible is wrong (and often, if you actually take the time to read these long winded articles, they are full of half-truths, unsubstantiated theories, suppositions, and outright falsehoods).

The biggest problem though, is that they are willing to take on faith the word of so-called scientists yet they can't take on faith ANYTHING that the Bible says. Do they realize the hypocrisy there?

Don't let it stress you Kelly. Those who don't know the Lord will use any excuse they can to deny His existence - so they can try to go on believing that they aren't beholden to God. And that's why you'll never be able to reason with most of them, because realizing the truth would mean admitting that the Lord is in control.

EDIT: For example, I just went to the Formal Debate section where there is a topic about God allowing suffering to exist in this world, and basically is saying "why would God let all this happen?", and trying to point out to Christians how this doesn't fit with the pciture they have of God. But we know that God didn't cause this, we did by our sin, and by our continuing to sin. But that explanation will NEVER be acepted by a non-believer.

I finally found a place on this website that I really need!! Man - I get sooo frustrated when I'm in the GA that I can hardly stand it. I actually stopped coming to CF for several months because of it.

I have a feeling I will visit this thread often!

God bless!!

Hi Kelly. I used to spend a considerable amout of time in the general apologetics forum and can relate to how you are feeling.

I was amazed at how many professed non-believers there were using Christian Forums daily, and with such great zeal. Many of them have thousands of post. I ask myself "why would someone spend such a tremendous amount of time and energy fighting against something they admitingly don't believe in?"

The answer was clear. The spirit motovating them is from the enemy. Many without realizing it are doing the work of Satan (although some will proudly admit that they are indeed doing Satans bidding ).

All of this served as a testimony in itself. A real life experience of the enmity that mankind has against the cross. My faith in the gospel increased because I actually wittnessed and experienced something the Bible said existed.

Welcome to the "deeper fellowship" forum. Come and rest awhile, seek refuge and be strengthened by the Holy Spirit.

Don't forget...

Ps 145:8 The LORD is gracious and compassionate,
slow to anger and rich in love.
Ps 145:9 The LORD is good to all;
he has compassion on all he has made.
Ps 103:8 The LORD is compassionate and gracious,
slow to anger, abounding in love.
Ps 103:9 He will not always accuse,
nor will he harbor his anger forever;
Ps 103:10 he does not treat us as our sins deserve
or repay us according to our iniquities.
Ps 103:11 For as high as the heavens are above the earth,
so great is his love for those who fear him;
Ps 103:12 as far as the east is from the west,
so far has he removed our transgressions from us.
Ps 103:13 As a father has compassion on his children,
so the LORD has compassion on those who fear him;
Ps 103:14 for he knows how we are formed,
he remembers that we are dust.
The Bible if for us not unbelievers. It tells us how to act like God.

Kelly, I most certainly can relate. I wandered into CF last Fall following a link from another Christian website. I've been astounded; totally blown off my chair at the level of veracity that so many who name the Name refuse to subscribe to the whole "obedience" thing. Not only that, but react with no uncertain hostility when approached with the Word.

Aren't we who are in Christ to comfort, admonish, correct, and encourage one another with the Word of God, wherein lies our great hope?

I've been prevented lately from spending much time in CF, which is probably a good thing given my own lack of patience at times. If anything else, use the experience as a means of cultivating your own posture in matters of scripture.

I've been encouraged even in times of discouraging debate - so long as we are debating to the glory of God first, and not to vindicate ourselves. We are only here to celebrate and reflect His magnificence...what a privilege!!

Thank you all for this thread. I thought I was the only one who felt this way about many of the posts and posters out there. I had stopped posting for a while because satan is so obviously present in the posts of so many professing "Christians" on this site.

I pray constantly for wisdom in dealing with some of these people.
