Adventists generally discourage dancing because of the sensual nature of many types of dancing. This is an area in which I disagree with traditional Adventist beliefs, though. I personally don't believe that the Bible forbids dancing. Certainly, some dancing is immoral, and some places where it is done are not good places for Christians to hang out. However, I don't think there is anything wrong with dancing before the Lord, as David did, for example. Most traditional Adventists would probably condemn all dancing, though.

The Bible actually says that David wore a linen ephod (a priestly garment):

2 Samuel 6:14 And David danced before the LORD with all his might; and David was girded with a linen ephod.

When Michal got upset with him (vs. 20) for uncovering himself or disrobing, it seems that it was because he had removed his royal clothing, not that he was completely naked.

Thanks Sophia, my dance team is getting ready for out-reaches during Hanukkah right now, we have a city wide one that is pretty contravercial... We were picked to represent the Jewish culture in a multi cultural event and the regular Jewish Synogogues are real upset over thispray for us we really dont want to cause strife, and this is a great way to show the love of Yeshua to them
