  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I loathe & abhore being pregnant. Nine months of nausea/vomiting/lack of energy/& parading round like a galleon under full sail is NOT my idea of a fun time. On the other hand I enjoy labour. Yes, I know that's strange but for me it's a bit like surfing. Catch your wave & ride it into the beach ~ with the added bonus of a prize at the end. :D
That really cracked me up celticrose. I think your description of both pregnancy and labor was interesting. I've never thought of labor as surfing. :)

I guess I didn't mind being pregnant. I voted sometimes. Mainly because I had bad siatic (sp?) problems in my back. I had to go to a massage therapist often to relieve my pain, but even that was temporary. I also didn't like the mood swings. I did love the feeling that I had a baby inside my stomache and the thought I was doing something wonderful that some people don't have the blessing to do.
Labor, yuck. Hurts, pain, laborous. Epidurals are a miracle in my opinion. :) God bless the person who invented them.

I loved being pregnant. I loved all the extra attention from people;), and loved the way my body felt so amazing. Aside from a few minor complaints like discomfort the last month and little nausea in the beginning It was awesome! Afterwards, post-partum, were some of the darkest days in my memory. So much so that it makes me not want to be pregnant again. So, I will cherish the memory of pregnancy.

I hate the first and third trimester, in the first I'm sick constantly from morning till night, in the third I ache constantly, bad back baby kicking me in the bladder and cervix, not fun.

The second trimester I love, feeling fab, sex drive returns, loads of energy.

The extra attention you get is nice though, people run around and do stuff for you . .it's great especially for lazy so and so's like me.

I loved it all the way til the last month..my back was really sore and my feet started to swell (I don't know how they didn't swell earlier, I had a job that required me to stand),and my stomach was so big and tight..and it itched like crazy lol...I also couldn't sleep well...other than that the other 35 weeks were great! I was only sick for like 2 or 3 weeks, and it wasn't even consistant then, I just threw up a few times and have a some nausea at times..I was very blessed with how my pregnancy went...oh except for my pre eclampsia scare.

For the majority of my pregnancy I loved it though towards the end it became uncomfortable and I was ready for it to be over. I think that helps to get you ready to have your little one. The best thing about it is that once your baby is born you really forget about all the aches and pains and the any other negative thing you may have felt during pregnancy. I just had my baby a month ago and I honestly miss being pregnant and can't wait to continue growing our family. Pregnancy is not always fun and easy but when it comes down to it all such a blessing and a gift from God,

This has been a fun & funny thread to read...we're on the verge of trying again and it has made me remember how much I did love being pregnant. Whoever said "everything was sunshine and roses when I was pregnant," that was me too. Plus my acne went away, my asthma got better, and for whatever reason the rest of me got thinner as my belly got huger. So I guess that's a resounding YES from me.

Oh also becoming a FORMER member of the IBTC, that was a plus. I had previously been deemed President of that committee by a friend...Errrr

No, no, no! I actually hated being pregnant and the whole time I was pregnant, I swore we were adopting the rest. But then I went into labor...and had my son and even for as miserable and sick as I was during my pregnancy, I would do it 100 times more because he was so worth it! One of my friends from church asked me how long before we had the next one and I told him I would do it tomorrow if it was just the labor, delivery and bringing baby home to take care of him because all that was and has been pretty easy! I was severely allergic to being pregnant, though....

Well, I hated my first two pregnancies. I don't mind this one so much.

The reason I didn't like the first two was the morning sickness was worse, and I could not find a bra that fit comfortably without chaffing. They were always too small, maternity store didn't care my size, couldn't order the right size on line, and when I finally found the right sizes I was singing the halleliah song. But it was towards the end of my pregnancies so I had to deal with that discomfort most of the pregancy and it left me feeling irritable and miserable all day. Third times the charm.;)

I very much enjoyed being pregnant. Didn't even mind people rubbing my tubby (for the most part). The first trimester isn't fun, but after that I did. Granted I have very few health issues. With first had horrible heart palpitations (SP?), but that was really it.

I LOVED LOVED LOVED being pregnant! I would do it over and over if I could!

Of course, I never had morning sickness with any of my pregnancies, so that may have something to do with it! But I loved the physical changes in my body - the roundness, feeling the baby moving and kicking - I even loved it when their feet were up under my ribs....

I definately did NOT enjoy being pregnant. I hated the inevitable "How you feeling?" that EVERYONE greeted me with. I would beg them to talk about ANYTHING but me. I felt gross, couldn't eat, couldn't sleep, peed constantly...hated it.

Then my second pregnancy got cut short when my son arrived 3 months premature. Then I felt like I got jipped out of my last, third trimester. Crazy, considering how much I disliked being pregnant.
