What is open air preaching, and why would that be the only method blessed by God?

I think it is the Billy Graham, walk down the stadium aisle 'accept Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour (tm)' and you are now OSAS type of fundagelicalism.

I voted d) because the question is trollish, and we cannot know the state of anothers soul before Christ.

Open-air preaching is standing on street corners and preaching the cross of Jesus Christ at the top of your lungs.

Oblio, it sounds like you have had some very unfortunate run-ins with Southern Baptists. Are you willing to forgive them and move on with your life? I believe the question is important, and the only reason I even put down the option d) is to find people like you to show the mercies of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Living in the Southeastern US, my in-laws, and many of my friends are Southern Baptists. I just don't agree with much of their theology or their 'plan of salvation'. I have nothing to forgive them for I am aware of the mercies and grace of our Lord and Saviour and have found them in the Holy Orthodox Church, but thank you for offering your plan of salvation.

I as well don't see the point of the question. What about open air preaching is better than non-open air preaching? I was not converted by someone on a street corner preaching the gospel. So was I not converted then?

I was converted in my bedroom.

I was converted on Haight-Ashbury by the Spirit of God, but the seed was planted by an open-air street preacher in New Orleans a few months earlier.

The preaching of the cross of Jesus Christ in the open air sows the seed, and the Lord waters using His ministers, and then God receives the increase when the soul is finally converted by the Spirit of God.

My main point on this question is one thing: Go out and preach the gospel in the open air, and you will see true conversions to Christ.

I was converted sitting in a jail cell 2 weeks after a prison officer had answered some searching questions i had asked him about his faith.

Statistics in the UK show that more people become Christians through the influenze of a Christian friend. Ive taken part and shared at many open air events and have yet to see anyone converted or heard of anyone converted as a result of hearing a message at an open air event.

There are many "soap box" artists in my city vying for attention each saturday. people have "heard it all before" Its the personal touch that really *gets through*
