  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

ha ha ha... we've had a few stuff ups on our Aussie thread a few times... and yeh we just take em over and turn em into something else like this one.

Its sooooo hot here in Sydney today... whats it like over there???
Sorry for my ignorance, but are you metric or imperial in Australia? Metric here and its -20 celcius and windy (deadly cold, in other words). That would be about -10 fahrenheit I think.

Cold, cold, cold. But I so prefer it to heat. When its cold, throw on another layer of clothing, when its too warm... what? Suffer. Can't stand heat! :)

So many up here laugh at southerner's inability to handle cold. Not me. I'm in awe that they can handle heat. With global warming on the go I may have to relocate further north in a few years. Already there's a full month here where the temperatures hit 25 to 30 degrees and I suffer.

Hey Avatar

I agree about warm weather. I'm not too crazy about it. I prefer cooler, even cold. Wow, it's - 20 C in your corner? Brrrrrr. It's 3 C here!

I actually like snow. Fall is my favorite season along with spring. Summer is pretty and I like it but I can't stand the heat. Heat depresses me. But I like a nice sunny day around 15-20 C. Not more than that. :)

Hi Rachel  G'day!

Welcome to the Canadian forum!

I love Aussies! I communicate with one on another forum and especially in chat. It's interesting how it's actually the Spring season down there and how vacations have started for students. And that Christmas is right in the vacation season. :) Now, that's different from us on the other side of the world!

Hope you come back here!

Kuujjuaq, Quebec. Not as north as north can be, but still. When you see the weather report on Newsworld we're pretty much the same as Iqaluit.

I have never heard of that place before... i better get my atlas out.
Look to the northeast coast of Quebec, near Ungava Bay. If your atlas is older Kuujjuaq will be called Fort Chimo. :)

So where in Australia are you from?

I found where you are on the map... i just looked it up on google.
I'm looking south of Sydney... will it really take more than an hour to see where you are?

*sigh*

*sips a beer, and checks the clock, 6 minutes now*
