As for de' whole 'how did the Green Knights get here so fast' question, it is very simple:
1. IIRC, Sathria still has the tracking spell on her.
2.Leighla's no-footprints spell should have worn off by now.
3.The Green Knights have Hwen, who is now a super-powered evil Liche. (I've decided that he doesn't work for the Pra Yer now, cuz' that doesn't make sense and the goodies have too many friends already)
4. De' bad dOOds are losing, and we need help.
So, WoF, you can stop ignoring them now.
As for de' whole 80 pounds of armor question:
Chain mail would slow down Manfred more than plate mail, since all the weight is on the shoulders rather than spread out through his entire body. My 1 cents.
BTW, has anyone here played Baldur's Gate?
If the Green Knights are as powerful as you say then they are too powerful, this party has had NO REST for almost a full day, if anyone is keeping track of game time. There are MANY factors to consider when rp'ing and time is extremely important.
Let's just take your points one by one.
1. Yes, they'd know her location, but to get there in the same amount of time that the party did?
2. Leighla's no footprints spell is moot because they ended up going THROUGH A MOUNTAIN. Forgive me if I'm wrong, but this point appears to have been ignored.
3. To change important things like this in the middle of a story completely ruins the flow of a storyline. And to change things to overwhelmingly give odds to the bad guys like that (they have Sir Wonderfully Evil, Maldirk, the self-proclaimed, super-powerful mage, the also self-proclaimed one of the greatest assassins ever AND a super elite group of Knights who are not only superbly adept in combat, but are themselves powerful mages). All along I keep hearing about how the goodies have things skewed to their advantage and I haven't said anything, but to make a change like this without any truly good reason.... I'm speaking up now. As far as I can tell all anyone on the "good" side has done is play their character as it was introduced in the character section. There has never been any secret to Asha's or Leighla's abilities and I have worked very hard not to overplay them or go beyond the scope of their description. In fact, I think I have DOWNPLAYED their abilities.
Now, before anyone gets his/her nose out of joint, let me tell you why I am saying this.
We have a STORY here, we need to preserve the STORY, not who's stronger or faster or smarter or better. If the "baddies" overwhelm the "goodies" before the story even gets off the ground then we all lose. I don't know about anyone else, but I prefer to have a good long story with LOTS of role playing and NOT SO MUCH fighting. The STORY is why I joined this thread and that's what I want to get back to, the STORY.
4. See #3.
About the armor, have you ever actually worn any? I have and I have been around folks who have, and not on some silly field trip or anything, so I can assure you from experience that plate is FAR MORE restraining and limiting than chain mail. If you want to know more about this check out the Society for Creative Anachronism.
Lastly, I HAVE played Baldur's Gate, but only the Super NES system many moons ago. It was great! Good STORY!!!
