Let's speed this up a little before the players get bored and leave. The war will begin in the next game day, if that is alright with Star. We can't have meetings forever.

Edit for Lady Knights post: You are not completely lost. Nothing important has happened at the tavern. Star has enough to do already, she does not need to take control of a tavern, and she certainly couldn't do it as well as you are.

Paladin Dave: Why do you fail to rise to the occasion? Besides, it's not one-upmanship when I came up with the flying ships BEFORE the Ember thread even got started.

Mega: Star isn't even on for a couple days anyway so she can't even give the go ahead for the war to begin in the next game day. Let's wait for her alright? I realize you have waited a long time to begin the war, but we playing on the Lumlorian side have not really had nearly as much prep time as you. Can it hurt your cause to give us more time to prepare? You will just have that much more EXTRA time.

Lady Knight: Don't abandon a good thing so quickly, especially now that we need you so badly. Ky is too important. You, as her player, must be the one to make sure to keep track of all the messages that come in and out of the Inferno Room now that the spy network is up and running.

Hey, if they can pull out a few dragons and some flying ships, why don't we just pull out some allied cities that have some skills with horses. That would work.

We could call the cities something like Ash and Cinder or something.

They could come a little late, and hit the elves from behind. Just a thought.

Although, the net idea might work if the nets have some serious weight on them. (oh yeah, you could just tie up the dragon's wings so they can't fly."

I'm really sorry for this...I've just had ALOT of stuff going on lately. In about two weeks or so I'll be back on my feet again...I'm on an Academic team, much to the dismay of Aria, and it is taking WAY too much time on my hands...I'm really sorry.

WOF is right...Lumloria needs ALOT more time to get started. I'm really sorry...I should have started both at the same time, however we probably would have had the same people instead of the diversity we do right now....I don't know. Just keep going and anything being done please go through Woman of Faith AND/OR Mega. They are what I consider my Co-Starters. They'll know what to do.

As for the start of the war. Things are going to be super speed in Lumloria and WoF's tactic is great of the impatience of Everel. I've not much time and alot of catching up so get to it

I think it would be great for Ember to have allies IF the thread were called Lumloria Against the City of Ember and all Ember's friends, allies and wannabes. HOWEVER, the thread is Lumloria Against the City of Ember so I have to vote against having any other cities siding with Ember. Besides, the point is that Ember is an isolated evil in the goodly land of Laurelda and Lumloria, being the closest and most bothered by Ember, is place from which the attack against Ember originates.

Now, this is not to say that you baddies can't come up with some really original defenses and counterattacks. I like the nets vs. dragons' wings idea, but how are you going to deliver that defense? Also, you have time until Lumloria's forces actually surround the city to get more help, supplies, whatever, into that city. (Ooops, helping the enemy strategize here, don't kill me for treason. )

To be straight to the point all the baddies attacks need to originate from Ember, after all, it's going to be besieged.

You guys are getting a heck of a lot of reinforcements too. And dont worry, I am working my brilliantly evil mind at coming up with some more weapons and stuff. Ok, so I am not by any means brilliant, but I have some great weapon ideas. You know, this reminds me of Archemides. He defended a city for decades with his machines alone. And it was against the Romans too! It only fell because the morons who ran the machines were too busy partying to notice the Romans coming over their walls. Ugh... stupid greek party boys.

Of course we have a lot of reinforcements! We are OUTSIDE of city walls. Much ado has been made about the fact that Ember is this big, independent city whose leaders thumb their nose at any hint of outside aid, unless it suits their purpose. They want nothing to do with conventional government or economic policies. They want to do things their own way. So, of course, they have been left alone to do just that.... until they tried to assassinate the leader of another city. Naturally, they would not have very many allies, except maybe from Anserak, and other evil places (there I go helping the bad guys again!). But Anserak is far away and there just aren't that many havens of evil in Ithiriya. Don't fault the good guys for exploiting every single advantage they have. It's Ember's own fault if they are a city besieged, they started it! Nah nah nah boo boo!

Archemedes, huh? Leonardo also came up with some interesting siege machinery, but he should have stuck with fine art. His idea for a spring-like catapult was sort of a dud, hardly any power and virtually no distance. Maybe that was why Mona Lisa was smirking, she saw the plans.

Oh man, thanks! I needed that. Yeah Archemedes rocked at making war machines. The Romans were sent running in terror from flying boulders that ended up crushing their ship with the ballista in one shot and obliterated entire divisions.

I am not saying that you guys shouldnt have reinforcements, and I have no idea where Mega would find any for Ember. I am simply pointing out a flaw in your reasoning, although I agree with you wholeheartedly.

While Ember would not have "allies", they do have quite enough money to either hire mercenaries from close by or to threaten to economically crush those who do not help them.

Aw, but my friends there is NO flaw in my reasoning for Lord Sir Lawrence is in fief to King Roltal. How does anyone know that the headquarters of the Brotherhood of the Golden Oak ISN'T in Lumloria? I can see your point about the Protectors of the Forest and the Pra Yer, but since two of my chars are already involved I thought, hey let's throw their orders into the mix as well.

I have no arguement against mercs or other hired/pressed help. I just don't think any other cities should become involved. I know I mentioned Peria, but the Emporer will diplomaticly extricate himself from any entanglement in this 'situation' so he can keep his options open. Don't ya just love politics?

All right, here's an idea. (Thanks Mega for the idea) Ember will have two tributary cities in the near south west. For the war, Ember will command them to give troops and supplies instead of the regular money that Ember demands of them every year. Making them tributary cities gives them no reason to fight, so you Lumlorians can play around with their reluctance to fight someone else's war. We can call them Yrestali and Wertang (Mega's names, not mine.) Support, anyone?
