OOC: The City of Ember (NEW EVIL MEMBERS NEEDED!)

NEW EVIL MEMBERS NEEDED!!!

Evil or good, though in this city evil is more common. This is a co-thread to the Consi thread and shall be part of the plot, however seperate. The baddies will mainly be contained in The City of Ember thread and the goodies mainly be in the Consi thread, however if it is within the plot, characters CAN interwine, with my permission. I shall be following both so I'll know the situation.

I would like to thank Mega for all his work on coming up with this idea. Welcome all newcomers.

People of Ember

Less than half of the people who are inside Ember at any one time actually live there. In Ember, the inhabitants are either merchants, people catering to the needs and wants (especially wants) of the merchants and their families, or 'just passing through'. It is a valued trade city because it is outside the soveriegntity of any nation, and therefor has very little restriction. The entire city is almost entirely run by private businesses, and the govenment is restricted to collecting taxes and giving contracts to the companies. The merchants are so wealthy very little taxes are needed to keep the city defended and sewered. The inns are the finest and most expensive in Christa, and the merchants demand no less.

While the merchants are busy hammering out deals which would be illegal anywhere else, their families find various ways to entertain themselves. Various stores selling useless tourist trinkets abound, as well as taverns and eateries. In the center of the three towers is the largest of the many gladiator pits in the city, owned and operated by His Majesty, High Merchant Lord Evral Tepesh, second most powerful man in the city. In addition there are brothels, bear- and bull-baiting, and some profesional sports...

There are virtually no poor in Ember. Beggars are thrown to the water-monsters because they are bad for business. Instead of begging, people turn to crime. The merchants are strongly against and kind of law enforcement, so theives can rest assured that their crimes will probably go unpunished.

OK. Those were all good questions.

1.) Any entrance will do, simply state your character or characters (limit three please) simply exist.

2.) Evil characters are MUCH more common in the City of Ember and as I said, this thread is parrell to The Consi thread, HOWEVER it is as yet NOT part of it. More than likely this thread will continue on way after the Consi Thread characters pass threw.

3.) The plot so far has been a few of the baddies out of the Consi thread have entered the City of Ember, hence the name, and are looking for a brother, not religious, blood. These characters, Sir Maldirk, Nina, and Kamahl, are in a store/fighting pit/slave market owned by the natorious Lord Everel, who is Sir Maldirk's brother. Another character from the Tiiven thread is Xhile, a former demon now changed to human, however he has lost none of his hatred for good doers. He is carring information of an elven army currently ralling to invade and reform Ember. A war is prominant and inevitable, however character placement must be done first.

4.) Any characters will do as long as you inform me. Any genre of creatures or humans are accepted, including three headed dogs or dragons, as long as they stay within "reality's" boarders. I am the starter and shall be judge of any misconformities and the answerer to any questions, though my co-starters Mega and Woman of Faith may assist you if they wish to do so. If elves are wanted, they are more than likely going to be spies if in the city or generals of the gathering armies to the south and west.

5.) As of yet, no current characters are pre-created save the ones already assigned.

Mega: Sir Maldirk, Everel, some NPCs and the Green Knights
Shocka: Kamahl and Nina (where is he?)

I hope I haven't forgotten anyone. Right now, Lord Everel and Maldirk are in the colleseum after a match. Kamahl and Nina have been put into storage in a hospital until Shocka comes back. Slice the Gladiator and Lord Everel's slave has gone home to get ready for a dinner party. Yeah, Lord Everel is going to have a dinner party soon and you're all invited, if your chars have enough social standing.


Wait, don't you mean armies to the north and east? South and west are in the mountains and on the opposite side of Ember from the forest.

Correction: The armies of the Elves shall be forming in the North and East NOT the west and south. Sorry...
