Random Question Alert: Is Ithriya located in the northern or the seouthern hemisphere of its planet? If it's north, then Anserak would be a hot desert, but if it's southern hemisphere then Anserak might actually be a cold desert instead. I'm too used to thinking in terms of the Northern Hemisphere when there's you Aussies to contend with, too.

You know what I hate? The maximum theoretical size of spreadsheets is to small. You know what else I hate? Database corruption deleting posts. Now I have to put back my thread for a THIRD time. So you don't just THINK your post was deleted, Bus, it was and I agreed that Wymite should get smacked. Then LF made a comment about Dale Carnegie.

I don't think it matters what hemisphere Anserak is in, LF. Just assume it's hot.

There's a sale on Spanish Civil War uniforms somewhere... those and some WW1 german helmets... yeah.

You know, I don't think giving spaceships lasers is really practical. They're just to weak. In space, with little wind resistance, wouldn't it make more sense to use kinetic weapons? And what's with this sheilding stuff? A ship in space won't have weight, so just give it so much armor that the hull is unpiercable! I mean, with tanks it's either the sabot gets through the armor and destroys the tank or it doesn't and just messes up the paintjob.

If there was really anything to fight over in space (called that for a reason), the cost of the ships will be outweighed. I don't think there will ever be a spaceship as big as Enterprise. If there was, it would be for killing microscopic aliens, not exploration.

they have to use shielding and lasers because it's sci-fi no one wants to see realism,it has to be physically impossible to be good sci-fi. Besides, if it was just armour they wouldn't be able to divert all power to the rear deflector shields, or have tense countdowns ( shields at 10%!!!) while they find a way to blow up the enemy ship.

Those lasers still look pretty wimpy, though. They should be wider or something... look, a little lightbulb is attacking the soap bubble around our spaceship, we're all going to die and all that...

there are hot deserts in the southern hemisphere as well...? I think it should be located in the greatest hemisphere of all... the WESTERN HEMISPHERE!!!!

make it cold though so we get as far away from mordor as possible

I'm talking about way far south, though, like near Antarctica (or Christia equivalent) or something.

Deserts can be really hot during the day and really cold at night, though... hmmmm. It definitely ain't gonna be sand dunes, though.
