I need help with this. It is my belief that it is wrong for us to test others. Is it wrong for us to test others? Is it only Gods right and place to test us? Please, if possible, provide Bible verses supporting.
It depends very much what you mean by the word "test", because in English it can mean various things. Teachers often test pupils to see how much they have learned. Manufacturers test new products to make sure they work properly. The bible says that Christians are to test themselves:

“Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you? — unless indeed you are disqualified.” (2Co 13:5 NKJV)

Christians are also told to test the spirits:

“Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.” (1Jo 4:1 NKJV)

Christians are told to test candidates for the position of deacon:

“But let these also first be tested; then let them serve as deacons, being found blameless.” (1Ti 3:10 NKJV)

The only example of a Christian testing other Christians that I can think of is:

“I speak not by commandment, but I am testing the sincerity of your love by the diligence of others.” (2Co 8:8 NKJV)

But of course that was Paul, and he was an apostle; we are not.

Welcome to CF. It depends on the motive for testing. One can be for the betterment of the individual and the other for the demise.

But of course that was Paul, and he was an apostle; we are not.
Indeed, we are not the Apostle Paul, but he says to follow him >

"Imitate me just as I also imitate Christ." (1 Corinthians 11:1)

And we have 1 Thessalonians 5:21 >

"Test all things; hold fast what is good." (1 Thessalonians 5:21)

So, from this I get that we need to submit to God and how He has us testing things. And His testing is for His all-loving purposes. Test how with God we can use anything for His all-loving good . . . not testing only in order to take care of our own selves.

You might read Joshua chapter 9:1-14. The Jews had orders to annihilate their enemies in their neighboring lands. So, one country rigged evidence to show they were from a far land, not one of the ones where everyone was to be killed by the Jews. And the Jewish leaders evaluated only the outward evidence > they did not make sure with God.

So, yes they should have tested those visitors . . . by making sure with God.

And in God's love we have His light so we can tell the difference between ones we should trust and others >

"And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment." (Philippians 1:9)

But may be you have been mainly concerned about yourself. And so, you could be testing only to make sure somebody will give you what you want. Well, this is not how to test. We need to learn how, with God, and evaluate in His love, so we are caring about people while we test them.

Yes, ones might say we need to have trust in our relationships. Well, we trust God because He has proven Himself. So, our trust of God is not blind. So, certainly I am not going to advise you to blindly trust some human!! Often, I advise people not to trust me only because I have been nice to them and I talk smart. But we need people we can trust to help us get more with God and to grow in Jesus and how He has us loving; or else we do not have the right purpose for our testing and trusting.

In what sense do you mean "test"?
Driving test? Sight test? Job interviews, where they might test candidates on their skill, knowledge or suitability for the job? Exam?
All of the above are fine.

But I'm told that, in the Greek, the words "test" and "tempt" are the same, or very similar. I don't think it's a good idea to tempt people, although, again, I suppose it depends on what it is. Eg saying to a friend "can I tempt you to another slice of cake?" may be ok, unless you know they are on a diet or there is another reason they shouldn't have too much sugar. But saying to an alcoholic, "do you want a quick drink", or to a gambler, "on go on, it's only a small bet", would be wrong.
