I have played:
Ultima online; didn't like the reincarnation and decay times. Not happy with the boats and PK.

Everquest: Loved this game but couldn't afford to keep my computer up with their improvements. And they pretty much locked out dial-up conection, too slow. They improved it past my new computer's memory, so upgraded to 500megs. Then the next expansion blew it away. Miss my battlefrogs.

Shadowbane: To much PK(actually all PK), and takes to long to get up to respectable levels. Did like the classes though.

Thought of trying Playstation Everquest, don't think they can over do
their improvements to much.
Might try again if I ever get Broadband.

Mmmm yes, I remember that...

I don't remember any reincarnation, but I did like the decay a lot. They took item decay away for a time and all the crafters went broke.

I played those others, as well as well as a bunch more. I'm really looking fwd to MEO. http://www.meo.com/ Looks like it's shaping up to be a good game.

I play UO. Have for the past 6 yrs. I can't really say the game has improved because the reality is that it has declined. It's just so darn addicting. *drools*

I do like the way they did death. Having to run around as a ghost and be resurected by a healer, player, or shrine. It adds more depth to the game. And from my understanding, they are currently "working" on the boats... In EA terms that means either A: The boats will not work after the patch and will sink in the ocean. or B: They will have it done by 2020.

I really like World of Warcraft because the "stylized" Warcraft 3 type graphics translate into lower poly counts so it runs very well on lower end systems. It looked great and ran like butter on my 1GHz Athlon with 544MB SDRAM and Radeon 9000.

The big problem with EQ was the Luclin models. It always ran sluggish for me until I turned off the Luclin models then it ran pretty smoothly. I even ran it on a 2.4GHz P4 system with 512DDR and a 128MB Geforce 4 Ti and it was sluggish in any populated areas because of the models.

As far as PvP, I like WoW's but I still feel the best treatment of PvP IMO is Dark Age of Camelot. Of course DAoC is releasing an expansion soon that upgrades all the player models so I don't know how it will run on my box after that. Hopefully, I'll be deep into WoW by then and won't care.

I tried EQOA for PS2 and the little I played it, I liked it but I don't have a PS2 and can't justify buying one just for that. Well, not yet anyway. When Micro$haft cancelled True Fantasy Live Online I was ready to trash my Xbox because I thought surely with the way Xbox Live is bragged on, SOMEONE would release an MMO for it but I guess that's a pipe dream.

My favorite of the games was EQ but like I said they over-accelerated the average persons computers and budget.

I do miss the battle frogs. Wizflip(13th), and Blupyrl (15th) a wizard and a shamon.
Top Char Sagemaster 18th level my first char.(RANGER)

PvP? Oooo mainly I did PvP in UO... back when it was good, but the best PvP is in WWIIOL http://www5.playnet.com/bv/wwiiol/index.jsp too bad the current free 2 week download/trial is over but they will have it again sometime. Graphics are not the best but it runs smooth and the PvP is great!

Started with Asheron's Call and had some real fun for awhile. It was the little things like pumpkins on the ground in the fall.

Moved to AO and absolutely loved it (I started after the game was running properly) the individual missions with decent rewards, group missions (once they were working) were great, loved the sci-fi theme and they even have a real radio station broadcasting inside of the game to the outside...or is it outside into the game? Either way it was cool and exposed me to a great metal group called Nightwish.

EQ grew on me, I hated the quests but as far as motivating ad hoc groups it was great. The biggest problem was that, on the server I was on at least, there became an orthodox way to level and if you departed from it (FoB, dungeon at the end of FoB, PC, etc...) you ended up by yourself in an empty zone.

I am tempted from what I have heard about EQ2 but am concerned about system requirements. I'm running an Athlon XP 1600+, 512 RAM, GeForce 3 Ti200 card and while Doom III and Far Cry run great I have heard EQ2 needs a pretty powerful system to run well.

I played the EQ2 beta for about a week on my system and it ran ok. 1GHz Athlong Tbird, 544 MB SDRAM, 64MB Radeon 9000. I had to turn details down but it ran ok.

DAoC is awesome...my friend plays it the enw graphics are gonna be amazing...DAoC definetely has some of the best spell effects in any MMORPG....
Absolutely and I love how the buff effects are different for all 3 realms. My favorite is the Oak line of buffs on Hibernia realm with the sparkling lights going up your body in the shape of a tree then the leaves falling around you. nice
