With the wave of online gaming for high speed access users, on both PC and consol, I thought I'd ask the question, what do you now prefer, single player or multiplayer (online or otherwise)?

You should have included both styles as some games equally enjoy both on-line and off-line play. Though lately, I have been Lords of the Realm III off-line to get used to the game.

I voted the single player experience. I haven't played any online games yet, so I can't really say if I like them or not. I can't stand the split screen multi-player games, but having a friend over to play a good fighting or football game is always fun.

a lot the single player games have become boring to me. so now...i prefer multiplayer online.

personally i like single player but thats just me cause i dont have many friends... unless my sisters b/f comes here

I remember the first time, I saw an online gaming device. It was an x-band modem for the SNES.
My mouth dropped! I couldn't believe what I was looking at. I immediatley bought one.
I have always been competitive, I figured every guy was. But the truth is, something like only 5% of system owners, ever play online. And that doesn't make any since to me.
I love taking on a goal with friends online. There is no better videogame experience, than being with a team, in an online battle against another team. I'm not talking about just any team. I'm talking about your friends, a clan, something that everyone contributes to. You practice together, you plan strategys together, and you win or lose together.
And PC owners, if you don't have voice communication, your online experience is subpar to the xbox online world, where every single person has a microphone, and a personality.

Thats why I got hooked on Counter strike I think (PC). Excellent team based game PLUS Voice Com.
Unreal Tounrament 2004 (PC) also uses Voice Com now
And for any online PC game that doesnt have Voice COM built in, there are 3rd party Com programs that you use instead, so there really is no excuse.
I totaly agree, Voice Com adds something amazing to Online gaming.
I cant wait for Halo2 on the Xbox coz that's when I'll buy Xbox Live kit as well
For the mean time, PC gaming it is
