  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Here are the scriptures that explain why God is NOT a trinity…

And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: (Mark 12:29)

I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no savior. Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? who hath told it from that time? have not I the LORD? and there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Savior; there is none beside me. (Isaiah 43:11 & 45:21)

I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins. They understood not that he spake to them of the Father. (John 8:24 & 27)

The question then becomes, “Did Jesus pray to himself?” …

God is spirit, and that one spirit (Father) spoke everything into existence. Man could not see the One God and did not understand Him (example is Job). Father needed to become flesh and walk among his creation (his people) so that we can touch him and handle him and ask him questions and to better understand him. Father being spirit, overshadowed Mary and she gave birth to Jesus, thus becoming the son of God.

When Jesus prayed, he prayed to the spirit IN him (Father) and said he (Father) doeth the works.

I also have the Father IN me (the one true spirit) and when I pray, I pray to the father who is IN me (just like Father was IN Jesus).

After the resurrection, Father was locked into that flesh tabernacle (Jesus Body) and is the ONLY God we have.

God bless.

Nice strawmen! For we Trinitarians believe the LORD is one Lord, and that there is no other Saviour besides Him, that there is no other God besides Him.

MannaMinistry, with all due respect, you didn't answer the question. I didn't ask for you to explain "why God is NOT a trinity" - notice that I never even mentioned the Trinity at all, so I'm not sure why you brought it up in the first place. Can you state more clearly what you believe, not what you don't believe?

Hi, Modalism is the idea that GOD is a singular being that expresses Himself in three major manifestation of deity. Where as trinity is the idea that GOD is made up of three induvidual personalities as one being.
A 3rd century priest named Sabellius is generaly credited for the theology of Modalism, and he was excommunicated for this teaching arround A.D. 220.

I'd like to point out that traces of Modalism pop up in verious, mostly protestant faiths that claim to be trinitarian. For example you are more likely to hear a protestant make the statement of trinity,"GOD the Father, GOD the Son, GOD the Holy Spirit," . The Catholic will make the statement," the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit," which induvidualizes each one as a personality.

Before people start pointing out that my belief concerning Trinity is oneness, I will post.

This is my doctrine:

God is operating through the role of the Father, the role of the Son, and the role of the Holy Spirit simultaneously.

God's form is a Spirit for John 4:24 says God is a Spirit.

The Father is the Son in essence, the Son is the Holy Spirit in essence, and the Holy Spirit is the Father in essence.

Therefore, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit is one Spirit.

The Father is not the Son in role, the Son is not the Holy Spirit in role, and the Holy Spirit is not the Father in role.

The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit is three distinct roles/functions/the actions and activities assigned to or required or expected of one God.

God is three Role.

Modalism was a heresy condemned by the Second Ecumenical Council at Constantinople in A.D. 381.

From the Synodical letter.
