First of all, Thanks for moving the secular threads out of the "Christians only" Section! Secondly, I would like to make one last comment.

Philippians 4:8
Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable - if anything is excellent or praiseworthy - think about such things.

There is no verse in the Bible that says, "Thou shall not listen to secular music." Paul tells us what to focus our minds on.

If the music you listen to fall into those categories, that's great, ENJOY, but you have to be careful. Don't just pass it off and say, "It's not THAT bad" Do the words or meanings fit these descriptions? You decide. But remember, you will be responsible deirectly to God for your choices, and your life will reflect what you're thinking about.
But I tell you that men will have to give account on the day of judgment for every careless word they have spoken. For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned."

Yeah... I agree...

I tend to avoid miusic with bad influences on my own, because of self-regulation. Music dealing with suicide, I tend to avoid, unless it's played really well (Fade to Black by Metallica is one good song). I'm not that sensitive to media, so I have a bigger threshold of being able to tolerate and enjoy.

Firstly, is is NOT clear that the bible as good as says "Thou shall not listen to secular music".

Secondly, don't think that by making a pronouncement 'in peace', a lá above, that you will not make people angry. Especially since this is very old ground you are going over and you're adding nothing new to the debate. If you had left that sentence out I would have been in agreement with your post.

Let's all listen to Christian music!!!

Seriously... I listen to rap, and I've never heard a decent Christian MC (Not one that rhymes normally and is incidently Christian, but the type that speak in every track about God and Jesus).

(KJ-52 and Mars Ill are awful).

So I have no option but to listen to secular music :p.
