  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

thomas you and i are on the same page. you are the first true believer that i have seen on any of these christian forums.

like you, i don't stand on any church doctrine. when i want to know the truth, i go straight to God with my questions and He leads me to the answers. i don't reference other works. only God's word. there is so much false doctrine being taught today and people fall for it hook, line, and sinker just because the pastor/preacher/priest says it's so. they forget what God says on matters but go with the world's philosophies instead.

i thank God for the beautiful habit of daily bible reading. i have learned about things that i have never heard any preacher, anywhere, including Billy Graham, teach the truth about. and the truth is right there for those who have eyes to see, but yet the truth is rejected because the world's twisted philosophy is more comfortable.
Amen

I find is sad that you trust no one, not even your own pastor (assuming that you attend church). You say that you read the Bible and that is your whole learning. You are missing the parts of the bible where God appoints men over us. Hmmm. I wonder why He does that? It could be so that they can teach us things. Hold on....God give us teachers, too. Wow.

It is so arrogant to think that you have knowledge and understanding, and where you fail to have it, you wouldn't even think to look to someone else for an answer.

I am in no way saying that everyone who calls himself pastor/teacher has it right. That is why Paul commended the Bereans who tested everything against Scripture. Hold on....wasn't Paul a teacher and a preacher?

I read a lot, usually from both sides of an issue and compare it what I read in the Bible. I also study God's word in and of itself. But I would never presume that God has not raised up smarter men and women than myself, and that they would have nothing to teach me.

How do you know if your saved?

What was your experience like when you got saved?

Why did you get saved?

Have you ever backslidden or always lived a Godly life?

Do you feel guilt when you sin?

I am asking theses questions for a reason and hope some will share with me.
