Once again, your prayers are needed...

I had another episode of excruciating back and abdominal pain yesterday. You may remember that a recent CT scan showed cysts on my ovaries and kidneys. Well, I'm glad to say that those are not causing the pain. It is the several large kidney stones they found (FINALLY) yesterday that are the culprits. One of my kidneys is completely blocked and the other is partially blocked. I was in the hospital all day yesterday for testing. They released me late last night, and I have a follow up with my doctor tomorrow morning. The doc at the hospital said the stones looked too large to dissolve or pass, and that surgery looked likely, but that is my urologist's call.

Please pray for me.

I've had three episodes like this over the last two months, and I'm just glad they finally found the cause. One of the stones is a half centimeter across. I looked at a ruler and I don't think that is going to come out by any normal way. I'm all for surgery if I don't have to go through that pain again. I've heard so many people compare the pain to labor, but I have to say that if I had the choice I'd rather be in labor. At least you get a better prize at the end.

Wols Serve 'em up! It may not help my kidneys now, but at least I'll be numb.

I went back to the doctor today for a follow-up. The stones are too large to pass, and as sick as they are making me he wants to remove them ASAP. I am scheduled for surgery Tuesday morning at 9:30 unless I have an attack this weekend then I'm to go straight in on an emergency basis.
