  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

what issue are you looking to have addressed here particularly as it pertains to the op?

Let's review:

Let us do evil that good may abound? Doesn't the Bible have something to say about that?

To which I had asked:
What does the bible say about pregnant 6-year olds?

Since the above seemed to pertain to the op, my question does as well. Your answer?

People can die in a car crash and it be counted as a covid death, because autopsy shows a positive test. And this is .02%

That doesn't happen.
#1, nobody would ever pay for that.
#2 there are no autopsies for car crashes.
#3 autopsies alone are expensive
#4 guidelines don't allow for that classification
#5 Covid tests are not even done on most dead people.

Clearly you consider a fetus to be a human being, and of course, it is your right to believe that. But please consider:

When the first COVID stimulus checks were issued, I received $1200 back in April. I assume that you also received $1200... unless you have children, then you got more.

Do you know what pregnant women received? $1200 -- the reason being that COVID checks are based on tax status, and you can't claim a child as a dependent until they're actually born.

Emotional arguments aside, it seems to me that "a fetus is a human being" up until it comes time for someone to foot the bill... I was just wondering what you thought about that.

My worldview is based on what the Bible says. The Bible assumes that the offspring of humans are human regardless of age or stage of development.

My worldview is based on what the Bible says. The Bible assumes that the offspring of humans are human regardless of age or stage of development.

And I presume (correct me if I'm wrong) that you would like the United States government to have a similar worldview, insofar as you would want them to outlaw the practice of abortion.

I was wondering if you've thought the matter through beyond that point. Please consider:

According to the World Health Organisation, approximately 5% of the population is pregnant at any given moment. If we apply that to the United States, we get 5% of 330 million = 16,500,000 pregnant women.

Assuming for a moment that they were all eligible for a stimulus check (and let's do that -- better to err on the side of the children, don't you think?), that means... let's see:

16,500,000 * $500 = $8,250,000,000 that we shortchanged those mothers.

Now, let's face it -- to the federal government, 8.25 billion is practically petty cash. Should they pay it?

They are paying it. They just print more money and give more than what the unemployed had been earning plus giving it to those who were still employed. The government has no filter when it comes to making us dependant upon it. Except of course when there are private interest groups involved.
Besides, I'm not on Bill Gates, or Margaret Sanger's side of population control. Let a family have ten children if they want them regardless of race or ethnicity. As God said, "be fruitful and multiply." And " children are a heritage from the Lord. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full."

They are paying it.

Um, no... they aren't. They didn't pay it before, and I find it highly unlikely that there's any such provision in the next COVID relief bill... but I could be wrong.

This... doesn't seem to make a great deal of sense, let alone address my question. Try again?

And royally hosed is the man who can't afford to feed them all.

I personally don't minimize either. That being said:

Abortion is the targeted killing of innocent human life that is deemed to be inconvenient.

COVID-19 deaths happen because people are negligent with a virus that spreads uncontrollably.

The latter is not to be minimized, but I can see how the former can easily be considered worse.

Just because it's screams were blanketed by amniotic fluid while they plucked it limb by limb doesn't mean it wasn't a baby.
And we were very much exercising our parental authority when we decided her fate.

There were no screams because it had no sensory input.

No, it's a woman exercising her right to bodily autonomy.
By targeting and killing innocent human life that she seems to be inconvenient. That is, when others aren't forcing her into it, which often happens, or when one or the other will have to die to prevent two people from dying.
