Dear goodwithoutgod. The Old testament is a History of the Israelites and their Prophets. Jesus came to fulfill it, He is " The Messiah," which Isaiah promised to come. The Israelites were surrounded by Heathen-Tribes, with their cruel gods, and God was establishing His Kingdom. Love is not often found in the Old Testament, and when Jesus came, He showed us God as God really is: " Our loving Heavenly Father who wants us back again." God is Love, and Jesus died out of Love for God, and for us. His pure and innocent Blood was the prize, which God`s Holy Law demanded. Jesus`s Blood cleaned us from all Sin and Transgression, Jesus is our Saviour and The Way back to God, where we came from.
Adam and Eve are our proto-types, they lived with God and God loved them. God had told them: " You may eat from any Tree, but if you eat from the Tree of Knowledge, you will die." We know what happened then, Adam and Eve ignored God`s loving warning, and believed a lying Serpent. God banished them to Earth, and instead of " Repenting," they moved farther and farther away from God. When Jesus came in time, Mankind had no chance to shed their wrong-doings, they, and we after them, were too deeply steeped in sins of every kind. It does not bear thinking about what was going to happen to us? But Love saved us all, God`s Love for us, and Jesus`s Love for God and for us, too. We are free to follow Jesus back to God, where we came from. And all we have to do? " Be born again," learn to love as God wants us to: God with all our beings, and our neighbour, ( all others, friends or not friends) as we love ourselves.
