  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I became saved later in life, just a few years ago. I grew up Catholic but other than going to Mass on Sunday, I did not really pay much attention to Jesus Christ. Although I would not say I did evil things, I did not have a relationship with our Lord. I lived according to what the world dictates.

Getting older, I became angry and paranoid. I was always angry at my daughter and blamed other people a lot for my loneliness. Because of the unhappiness in my family, I sought for something different, something hopeful. A friend invited me to a non denominational church whose members really read the bible and the pastor taught in depth about the bible. I read it and I realized what I was missing. In the last years since I accepted Christ, he literally changed me from being an angry, paranoid person into a hopeful, peaceful child of God. My daughter saw the power of God by the change in me. I pray that this will make her faith in our Lord stronger.

Praise and thank God for his goodness!
