Hi,
I'm attending a new church of mine and there are quite a few old men around 80/90. It's really encouraging to see them on fire for God! Last nite, one guy got up to preach for the evening, he must be around 70 and he is blind. He was preaching on God's everlasting covenant, using his braille bible. As he was preaching about the wonderful promise of God's covenant he was really lifting up God and pulling scriptures out from all over the place, like he was picking grapes. I was really encouraged and went home saying, God make me like these old guys when I'm that old.

We can learn so much from these faithful believers, who have the wisdom and experience of age, combined with a fire and passion for Christ. They have matured in faith and learnt the Scripture thoroughly, been filled with many revelations and words from God. Yes, Praise you God, for the faithful lives of these old believers who have touched and continue to touch many. Keep on filling them with your power and keep them hungry to know more of you. You are an AWESOME God, and it is so encouraging to know that this passion does not die out with passing time. No, hunger for you Lord is never satisfied, there is always more to learn, more to experience of your infinite wisdom and love. Father, to echo the prayer of mannysee, may you enrich my faith and keep me burning for you right through until you take me to be with you in eternity... Amen.
