  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. 2 corinthians 12:9

You've been on a mission? Wow that's so cool. :) Tell me about it! How long were you there? What did you do? With whom did you go? How was it?

I most certainly have. it began as a gap year but has turned into a calling to return and continue as a missionary. I was there 7 months from October 09 to may 10.
I worked with a charity called the Philippine Outreach Centre, if you'd like to check it out the website is
Philippine Outreach Centre Ministries

it has various ministries attached to it, one being it prison ministry where they do outreach to prison inmates in local jails. the prisons are over crowded...oftern 100 men to a 40 man cell. most inmates are awaiting trial...but have been lost in the system and will continue to be waiting. I know some who have been waiting over 15 years to be tried for offenses worth 3 years or less.

However I rarely went with the prison ministry team as my heart is for the children's homes and Children's ministry.
We have 1 babies unit for babies new born - 4 years.
1 boys house, for 4- 18 years
1 girls house also 4-18 years
And also a special needs unit
i help out mainly in the girls house and babies unit...the children we care for many are children of inmates, as the system is basically if you go to prison, and no one can care for your children...they go in to jail with you! the over crowded jail, with the criminals...
there are also children with us who are orphans, indigents, street children, abandoned children.

we also have a free school, the system in the philippines is that the only way to go to school is to pay but with a third of the population on less than $2 a day, they can barely afford to eat never mind pay for their children's education.

we also have a Children's ministry every saturday morning teaching bible stories and outreaching the local children in the community and saturday afternoon we visit another government run girls home to outreach there also.

I loved it...It was a humbling and wonderful experience. i was ministered too more than i ministered :) Its completely different over that side of the world and puts life in a real perspective.
