We finally got our rain on tuesday... Praise God......We need some more.....................

Its been raining every day this weekend (mostly scattered showers and storms). We are moving this weekend and it better rain while we are sleeping !!!!

Hey Mount Vernon is having its 200th birthday tomorrow! We are suppose to get like 30,000 people in our little city to see the parade and fireworks! Thats double our population!

I am from Mt. Vernon too! I attend New Life church of the Nazarene. That was quite a fireworks display for little old Mt. Vernon.

Hey yea it was! Awesome finaly someone from Mount Vernon cool! Those were the best fireworks ive ever seen in Mount Vernon! .... Now New Life churc of the Nazarene where is that at? I always thought that it was just the First church of the Nazarene in Mount Vernon? awesome and glad to meet ya by the way!

Glad to meet you too! There are actually 4 Naz churches in MTV now. New Life was called Evangelical Church of the Naz. up until a year ago. It is on the corner of Ames and Newark Rd. My wife is on this board too and she grew up in Mt. Vernon. Her username is tommyngina.

Did you grow up there or are you a transplant? I came down to go to MVNU in 1988. Aside from two years, I've been there ever since. I really like it because it is a small town, but not too small.

Hi! I should have come down for the parade and fireworks on Saturday. I thought about it decided against it. I also went to MVNC starting in 1988. Then we lived there until two years ago, and I moved back to my hometown...only 35 miles ago in Holmes County.

I used to live near New Life when it was Evangelical. I liked visiting there. I went to a couple scrapbooking nights there, also.

OO okay i yea i know where that church is... Thats awesome your wife grew up in Mount Vernon I actually live right outside Mount Vernon in Bangs which is only 3 miles outside of Mount Vernon .... But its still a Mount Vernon address and ive been going to Mount Vernon City School all my life! So yea im not a transplant haha do you have kids that go to school in Mount Vernon? i know there is a really nice new elementary school! Twin Oak!

Yes. I have a son who is going into 4th grade and a daughter going into 1st grade at Twin Oak. It is a very nice school. Are you still in school?

I drive through Bangs when we take route 3 to Columbus. I guess it is a small world after all.
