CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I live in this little place called Germantown, in the Dayton area. Don't feel bad if you've never heard of it; our only claim to fame is high school football! We got a little over 18 inches in the big storm, and boy was that fun to shovel out of. Wouldn't've been that bad if I hadn't had to go out in it

Hey, I'm from southern Ohio. Actually as far south as you can get without falling in the Ohio River. Anyone ever heard of Portsmouth? We are directly south of Columbus on US 23. I actually live in a small community called Minford but it's all in Scioto County.

I know where Gallia Co. is, I'm in and out of that county for various reasons. Last time I was there I was at Rio Grande University. Area Agency on Aging is located there. I run a Home Health Agency in Portsmouth and deal a lot with them and PassPort (goverment program that pays for Home Health Aides for the elderly)

Pushing 50 has made it hard to remember if I posted here already or not???

living in Grove City, SW of Columbus. Born in Miami Fl, military brat, all my living family living here for the time being. Mother's family from Penn. then moved to Sonora, or Zanesville OH, father's family Muskingum County and Columbus, then moved to Zanesville.
2 sons, one born in Nebraska one born in Columbus.
Husband's family from Kentucky coal mines (really) then moved to MacArthur Ohio.
My hubby works in Mansfield OH for next year or two until he retires (yipee), makes the drive every day. He worked for Delphi/ GM plant in Columbus but transferred for last 2 years before he retires...
We hope to move in a few years, but you never know, it feels good to have roots for once in my life, so maybe we'll just travel a bit or maybe we can eventually afford to be snow birds... maybe we'll keep living in this wonderful little house here and just get busy going places and seeing things.
