CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I do not know you, new here to CF but just saw this thread and wanted to let you know that you have one more person praying. I know what it is like, when I was 16 my dad, also struggling with Vietnam hurts, took his life. Many many hugs and prayers.

Hello dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, Let me say thank you so very much for all the prayer and encouragement. I am hanging in there so far. I have my weak moments as I go through things and contenttemplate my future without him.
Still lot's and lot's of questions, "However" I know they will never be answered.
Since I was on CF last I have been going through Dads storage and found a full tote of 45 records, All the oldies. Like Elvis Presley and many many others. I do not know if they are collectors or not?
I also found a collection of antique comic books that I have no idea what to do with as well as a 1941 Newspaper of when the war was going on.
It is strange to go back through things and find stuff about him that I didn't even know.
He and I were very close and I found a picture of us sealed in a ziplock bag in his safe. This made me proud :]
Guys you are all in my prayer everyday and I thank you for all that you do for people here at CF. You truly go above and beyond and I am proud to call you family. God bless each and every one of you.

Scotty, I am so sorry to hear of your father's passing. I wish in times like these, there were magic words to heal your heart - but I do not know any. I do know, however, that God, the creator of you, of the heavens and of the earth, that HE knows the words to heal your heart. That HE knows the way to comfort you. And that HE is standing beside you, all your days, comforting you and holding you upright. Rest in God's word. i am so sorry for your loss.
