HOPEFULLY sometime in October 2005... as long as my fiance visa goes through!
Yep, if my fiance's student visa doesn't go through then we will have our church wedding July 16 anyway and fill in the official marriage license when the fiance visa goes through. (I've heard it's fairly common for peoples' wedding date and their 'legal' wedding date to be as far as a month apart due to paperwork glitches or just the sort of thing he and I may face.)

Well, our plans are nearly done. WE live in Virginia but our wedding is in my hometown in Kansas. WE fly home on the 22nd and the wedding, like I said is on the evening of the 27th.
Everything is Christmas themed. My dress is white with sheer long sleeves. We are having a traditional epsicopal wedding liturgy, without the communion.
My sister is matron of honor and my sweetie's brother is best man. Sis is wearing a green velvet dress. We have 2 flower girls who are adorable 2 year old cousins of mine who have little dresses with white tops and red velvet skirts and they are going to ring jingle bells attatched to mistletoe. I am having a boquet of red roses with white star shaped flowers scattered in it, my sis will have plain red roses. My fiance and his brother will have boutenierres of mistletoe. We are having christmas carols (all the "church hymn" ones) played on piano during the seating of the guests, "Away in a MAnger" while my grandparents and mom are being seated. My fiance is singing the hymn "Love Came Down at Christmas" during the service, and my college roommate is singing the Michael Card song "The WEdding". Our recessional will be "Joy to the World" on the organ played with MUCH JOY!:)

Our reception is at a local hotel ballroom, we have green table clothes with ivory overlays and red fan folded napkins. The centerpieces are also our favors--we have red christmas ball ornaments with our names and date in gold that will be on mirrors on all the tables with a lit candle in the center. We're serving some hot and cold finger foods and veggie and fruit platters and cake, which is white frosting with red roses and rose petals on it.

I think we have about 105 people coming, and it should be very fun and elegent and modest. It is classy, but not overly fancy and extravagant. My parents were very generous to pay for this event and we've kept it reasonable but very very nice. I couldn't be more grateful or proud of the efforts made to make it special.

Since the wedding is in KS but we have lots of friends and our church here, we are having a 2nd reception on Jan 15 here with about another 100 people for a simliar menu at our church parish hall with some musical entertainment. I'll wear my dress again and my parents and sister and her husband are all flying out for it. It should be really fun, too!

That's awesome! It's so exciting! :)

My fiance and I are in a similar situation to yours- he lives in South Carolina and I live in British Columbia. So I think we're going to have two weddings. The first one will be there because his parents can't afford to fly out here but mine can afford to fly out there.

Congratulations honey!
