What is going on at Warner Bros and it's handeling of the DCEU? You had it Warner Bros. You use to rule the world. You had the 1978 Superman movie and the sequel Superman 2, which are considered classics. You had the Tim Burton Batman films and the award winning animated series which has many fans. You had the popular Wonder Woman tv series. There were a few missteps but then you had the Christopher Nolan Batman films, which are considered some of the best comic book movies ever made.
You had three of the most iconic comic book characters in comic book history successfully adapted to screen when the best Marvel could do was this:
YOU HAD IT! So what went wrong? Did they replace all the movie execs with monkeys?
First you let Zack Synder direct Man Of Steel, which only got average reviews from critics and fans. So why was he hired again two more times?
WB exec 1: "Zack Snyder's Man Of Steel got lukewarm reviews from critics and fans. It was criticized heavily for it's dark tone which doesn't suit the character and ending fight in Metropolis where Superman kills intentionally and unintentionally."
WB exec 2: I KNOW! LETS GET HIM TO DIRECT
TWO MORE OF OUR MOVIES! MAYBE HE WILL DO BETTER THIS TIME!"
WB exec 1: "GENIUS!"
Me:
Thor: The Dark World is considered one of the worst of the Marvel movies. Guess which Marvel movie the director directed next... Exactly.
Then you made Batman v Superman, which should have been a main event movie. It should be like a main event boxing match or the final match at Wrestlemania. We should know who both contenders are before they fight. It should not be your second movie.
The time line should have been:
Man of Steel - The Batman - Wonder Woman - Batman V Superman - Suicide Squad- The Flash - Aquaman - Shazam - Justice League.
You crowbarred in The Death Of Superman storyline. Since we only knew Superman for one movie and he spend most of it putting civilians in danger and we only get a short montage in this movie of Superman actually acting like Superman, his death has ZERO impact. You also had Jesse Eisenberg apparently playing Lex Luthor acting more like The Riddler.
Then you went on to make Suicide Squad, the worst movie in the extended universe.
We got The Joker with the word "Damaged" tattooed on his forehead, just in case Jared Leto's subtle acting didn't convey strongly enough that the Joker is a damaged person.
We got Captain Boomerang, who is basically just a bogan with excellent throwing skills.
We got The Enchantress, who creates a skybeam (one of the most cliche comic book movies tropes ever) and spends most of the movie belly dancing.
And finally we got Slipknot "The man who can climb anything". WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWW!!!!!!!
THE MAN WHO CAN CLIMB ANYTHING!!!!!!! THAT'S LIKE THE COOLEST ABILITY EVER! NEXT TIME A SUPERNATURAL FORCE THREATENS HUMANITY BE SURE TO FIND A MAN WHO CAN CLIMB ANYTHING. I'M SURE HE WILL COME IN HANDY WHILE YOUR INSIDE A BUILDING AND THE SUPERNATURAL ENTITY IS LOCKING AND POPPING.
The ONLY good thing about this movie is Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn. Most spot on casting since J.K. Simmons as J. Jonah Jameson.
Apparently the second trailer was so popular Warner Bros. decided to get the company that edited the trailer to edit the movie.
THIS IS NOT HOW YOU MAKE A GOOD MOVIE!
Then you made Wonder Woman which was actually good! I thought "Finally DC is back!" Finally DC had a 1up on Marvel.
But then you made Justice League...
Zack Snyder had to leave production because of a family tragedy and instead of postpone the release, WB got a different director with a completely different style and added a bunch of Marvel type humor, turning Batman into a joke because people complained that the movies were too dark.
THIS IS NOT HOW YOU MAKE A GOOD MOVIE!!!
From what I've read they did this so WB execs wouldn't lose out on a pay bonus, which tells me that the people at Warner Bros only cared about the money and didn't care whether what they were making was good or not. They must have thought: "It's superheroes, so people will go and see it regardless of if it's good."
YOU MADE ALL THE WRONG CREATIVE CHOICES AND DIDN'T CARE ENOUGH ABOUT WHAT YOU WERE MAKING! MARVEL IS DESTROYING YOU AT THE BOX OFFICE AND YOU'VE TURNED THE DCEU INTO A JOKE! GET YOUR CRAP TOGETHER WARNER BROS!

........ Anyway, Aquaman looks pretty good.
