50 years ago the home video craze began with gaming that first mimicked sports, then turned to eating (Pac Man which is 42 today) and then to outright violence. Has the industry created a better or worse culture as a result of it's influence?

Is this supposed to be some sort of claim that a game made people eat too much (or too poorly)?

As a former occasional PacMan player, at no time in playing PacMan did the game make me want to eat more or eat less. (I sometimes played while waiting for pizza, so I was already hungry.)

ha ha, I had Odyssey as a kid. I don't know how anyone could argue the culture is better for video games.

People have at all times had various forms of entertainment to help distract them from the worries of life. I don't see how video games are bad if done in moderation. But that holds true for anything. Too much water is even bad for you.
