• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

So I was at work and just going about my buisness when my coworker came and said "I'll give you 101" and I said "I guess" without really asking what and then he said "ha your soul is now mine" and I didn't want to give my soul and can't of cause God already has it and i know I didnt but the panic and OCD is still there so that's where I'm at and don't know if this should even be posted here,

Faith has always been a spiritual gift of mine but OCD sure trys to kill me sometimes

Does your mate know about the ocd? It sounds to me like he was taking the mickey.
No I don't think he does, I'm sure it was a joke but it still doesn't mean mentally I was prepared for that out of the blue and I already have irrational fears of that sort of thing anyway

Hey. Don't worry about that. There are lots of times that someone will be talking to me and they will say a few words and I'll say uhuh and all of a sudden they say something I would never agree with but I said uhuh. I just tell God I didn't mean that and He knows I didn't. Your soul belongs to God. That has not changed!!!!!!!!!!!!

It sounds like you already have an obsession about this, and this incident just triggered it. My advice is to treat it as you would any other trigger...ignore the obsessive thoughts and don't allow yourself to do compulsions.

Are you already receiving help for treating your OCD?
