• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Is it possible to have only one obscession with Scrupulosity, that of having never accepted Christ as my saviour? I don't seem to be bothered by any other fears or obscessions...just that one, and that there's no hope for me because I have worried about this all my life but have never come to that place of faith. I have spent 40 years doubting my salvation. Mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and phychologically, I'm just spent. I have no energy left for anything anymore. I'm just here, that's about it.

As a sufferer of scrup OCD believe me I know those types of thoughts, but you have to remember one thing Fifigirl and that is with OCD Scrup, The OCD thoughts attack what you love most. This is actually a validation that you are 100% saved, not the other way around. If you didnt believe that you were saved 100% and if your salvation never mattered to you, the OCD would never have attacked it, and instead would have focued on something else that is more important to you.

See what I mean?

Thank you for the prayers. I certainly need them! I cannot distinguish what is an OCD obscession or thought vs what is a fact when it comes to my doubts. I am having trouble with faith, with believing what God says in his Word, with trusting Jesus. I know all the facts, the Truth about what happened, what Jesus did for me, but I keep obscessing over whether or not I "believe" and have trusted Christ as my Saviour. My problems are so in-grained in me that I can't even write it all out here in a few lines. I was having problems before OCD was ever known to be a mental illness. Anyway, any help you could give would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for the prayers..thanks so much!

It seems to me that you have faith but your doubts are driven by relying on your feelings as a verification to your salvation. We don't need perfect faith to save us. OCD makes us feel overly responsible and also to doubt God knows this. Would you like to speak scriptures each day out loud with who we are in Christ? I could say them each day too. Praying for you. Will be in touch tomorrow. God loves you daughter of the most high God. You are His child.
