• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Surfing, Welcome to this forum, I think you will find help here with others that truly suffer in the same way that you do. I know how you feel when you speak of not being able to rest in the fact that God's Grace and Love is truly for you, but faith is not a feeling, and I thank God everyday for that, you are truly loved and valued by God, OCD is a disorder that God does not hold against us, please try to just trust in Christs unconditional Love for you. Are you seeing a couselor along with the meds that you are on? I am very happy to hear that you are out of the church you described as being a cult, because of wrong teaching your OCD may of gotten worse, I hope you are now in a good Bible believing church that is sooo important. Yes OCD can make you feel as if you are losing your mind, but you are not, OCD is not who you really are, Feelings can be so deceptive, OCD is a big liar, one of my doctors discribes it as a heckler in the stands. Many on this forum have tried Exposure response therapy and it has worked for them. Ask the Lord to give you an answer as to how to conquer your OCD, he is so faithful and will get you through, Don't give up my friend, we on this forum will keep you in our prayers we do know how you feel and we care for you. Love and Blessings Jan

I have felt before that "maybe I'm just crazy". I can look now and say that I'm not and neither are you. I think that by asking that question about ourselves should prove that we're not. I know this is a constant struggle and some ministers who don't understand, ones who have never experienced anything like this in their own lives, can really make those of us who have and do feel hopeless and so fearful. I hope you find a church where the minister is compassionate and not condemning. Welcome to this sight. Although I am still pretty new to it, it has offered me so much encouragement already.
