quatona said:groundhog, I have problems understanding why you insist on this question, whilst it is clearly not essential, not even relevant to the topic of the thread.
On another note: Maybe I´m not sufficiently familiar with the english language, but to tell from my own language we often use the equivalent term to "choose" in a very loose way in everyday language, without intending to make a philosophical statement about whether choice exists or a statement whether choice exists in the matter at hand. It´s simply meant to signify that we perceive more than one option.
I personally believe that the philosophical concept of "choice" is nonsense, yet I use the words "choice" and "choose" in everyday language on an regular basis, and - as I think - meaningfully in the given context.
So, in the light of her further responses, I would recommend to assume that she didn´t try to say anything about whether homosexuality is a choice or not.
Regarding your comments pertaining to the word "choose", if I am somehow misunderstanding the nature of her statement, I can accept that. But I truly don't see how it is reasonable to NOT expect someone to discern her position by what she said. That's MY understanding of my language. It seems very clear to me.
But, you're asking me why I'm asking that question - is that correct? Well, it's simple, really. Based on her responses so far, my curiosity is peaked now and I'm seeking her clarification about what she meant when she said "they choose those with the same biology as their partner instead of those with different." My question is simply an attempt to ascertain what she means. It may not be relevant to the core topic of the thread, but I nevertheless feel it is a valid question. I'm not trying to hijack the thread. Perhaps I should ask her via PM instead.
