If kind = species, we've observed changes in kinds. If kind =/= species, you need to present an alternate definition.

The criteria of classification do allow a lot of negotiations. No classification is good for all purposes.

For simplicity, we do can construct the new system by modifying the cladistic system. For example, we can start with life-kind and non-life (a better name?) kind. All the plants would go to the non-life kind.
