How about the existence of an earth inhabited by intelligent creatures?

That's as much evidence for the existence of God as it is for the existence of Zeus, Allah and Brahma, which is to say none.

Evidence must be seen. It's there, but you can't see it because you have closed your eyes.

The creation points to a Creator. The thing made to its Maker.

I've been trying to tell them this as well. We don't get to humans making computers, ipods and skyscrapers from a natural unintelligent process such as evolution theory. It's running backwards.

You've been failing at that as well. Lighting is not evidence for Thor in the same way as "the universe" is not evidence for God. Before you can use the universe as evidence you have to show that God actually created it.
