  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I am glad he won. No more Bush like policies anymore. I am not saying McCain is a dummy, but, I am saying that it is a time for change. GOD Bless Obama, and, the next four years of running the US!!!!!!!! May He comfort all who are appointed to the administration in the next few months. GOD Bless!!!!!!!!!!!

Everytime I see someone bash Bush who is likely one of the most morally upstanding men to ever be president I wonder what they will think of any man in that seat after having to put up with him for 4-8 years.

Some choose to see good and others only bad I guess. We remember the good though and much more of that has been done than bad. This time around its iffy.

SolomonVII;

If people actually did what you were suggesting, they would make Jerrys guest look like moral geniuses.

People wouldn't watch if they were moral geniuses.

Getting abortions to spite those who call abortion murder is very low on the list of reasons women give as to why.

Who said women get abortions to spite others?

My post had to do with educating people, politicians, voters, and mothers, to what abortion actually is.

Starting the conversation by calling them names, which seems pretty common in this forum, doesn't get anywhere and probably causes more harm than good.

You only responded to the last part, the 1st part stated that she voted for Obama thinking that he is going to end the war on terror, her words, and that's not what he said, he said he would pull the troops our of Iraq, and put them into Afghanistan, that's not ending a war. She thinks that her son will be coming home next year.

I meant it would be unlikely for troops to be sent to A from I.

They very well could be rotated back to A instead of I though.

I know guys are going on their 4th or more tours over there and more than a couple who have been to A more than once.

Once trained in a particular theater that becomes a bit of a concern on who is deployed where.

I don't agree with everything Bush does, I do believe however that he is the real deal when it comes to his faith.

The economy ? Well, the Dems have had the majority in the legislative branch for two years now- so the blame does not just fall on one person now does it ?

No. Yet when you look at history, the economic philosophy of the Repubs has always increased the deficit but at the same time seemed to increase jobs right along with inflation unless of course there is a basis for fact in the theory of Reagan-omics. I admit economic policy boggles my mind though so these are merely my impressions. I actually expect the economy to improve now but would throw that out the window to save one baby but thats just me.

I'm not a Bush basher. Like someone mentioned, a lot of what has happened is not his fault alone. Ever seen him when he was younger? He was a cutie! :love2:

I often wonder if the tag-line of history on George Bush will be:

"When he did the wrong things they were for the right reasons. When he did the right things they were often done the wrong way. Trusted some people he should not have and could not always choose the right friends to advise him."

Haha, lloks like a uni-brow in need of decorations to me.

Of course I guess it would take having earned a chest full of medals to appreciate what the sacrifices made to earn them really means. ;)

Ireland sounds appealing to me, too. It was the most beautiful place I'd ever lived in the world, and if you can qualify as an artist (hopefully I can since I have worked in writing, graphic design, and music) you can live tax free for the rest of your life.

But that wouldn't be the real incentive. It would just be so cool to be retired surrounded by writers and artists and musicians (who are probably predominantly liberal.)
