I thought we weren't suppose to debate which candidate we liked the best in the support thread? I might have to narc you out to a moderator, but no hard feelings, I mean no ill will by doing so, I just try to keep within the rules of the forum.

I did not know my post was a debate I thought it was info on Obamas party. oops.

Tell them I would delete it but I don't know how.

I guess I could edit out the text. Oh well we will have to see what they say.

God bless you

Well, Einstein, at the end of your post it said something about praying no more Democrats get into office in Washington - or to that effect, right? Doesn't sound like support to me. Since being a Christian and a Democrat these days is like being a deer in the headlights, a thread that is for those who support Obama is a nice refuge. That's all.

Go Barack Obama!

It is time for a change, it is time to let the democrats come into office and something about our country, we need a bipartisian effort, a uniter to come into the white house and pull both parties behind a common theme. Barack Obama, is like the second coming of Christ, were America will become like a city on the hill for all the world to see, and respect and love. With republicans for america, and democrats for america.

Go Barack Obama!

What do you all make of the new numbers that show Obama ahead by 3 points, but statistically a dead heat?

Pat
To be honest, I'm a little bit concerned.

I'm a huge Joe Biden fan, but I can't help but wonder if it was the best idea to snub the Clintons. I know the CW is that she has high negatives, but she also brings A LOT to the table as far as fund raising and voter mobilization are concerned.

I'm hoping the Obama campaign can do something in this convention to get the Clinton supporters fully onboard. If he does that, I think we'll be okay.

I don't know that I'd call it a "snub". Truly I can't imagine Sen. Clinton even wanting the Veep spot. It's a notoriously frustrating job.

At any rate, current reports have her doing everything in her power to persuade her supporters to transfer their wholehearted support to Sen. Obama.

And didn't Ted Kennedy and Michele Obama kick them some butt tonight at the convention!!! Woo hoo!!!

My conservative Christian friends, and those I fellowship in church with, do not understand how I can be a Democrat. They don't understand when I say the hearing Al Gore or John Kerry or, now, Barack Obama (especially Obama more than all the others) is like being in church. It's almost a spiritual experience for me, to hear Democrats aspiring to do the same things that Jesus told us to do. Nevertheless, this is how I feel.

When I hear the conservatives, it's like listening to the laws of death from the Old Testament. It's like listening to the Pharisees. Indeed, where the law of Moses is read there is a veil over the hearts of men. And they are blind and don't see the truth of this. It's sad, in a way.

Go Barack! May God keep him safe. Already there have been assassination plots interrupted. What kind of nation are we in really, I wonder? Where hate is so strong. Where Clinton supporters actually have aired ads that say they are voting for McCain. Makes you want to trot out that old Colonial flag with the pine tree and the slogan "An Appeal to Heaven".

Well, many of her supporters feel that she's been snubbed and that's what I worry about. Maybe she wouldn't want the job, but she wasn't fully vetted by the Obama campaign and people feel that she should've been involved in the selection process. Now it appears that her supporters are going to be denied the full roll call vote to which they feel entitled--and Bill doesn't seem to be totally on board.

And, I'm sorry to say this, but I think McCain's ad featuring Hillary Clinton praising him and pointing out Obama's inexperience is going to be VERY effective.

I think the Obama campaign has to do something more to court the 18 million party activists that supported Hillary Clinton. Merely keeping them from voting for McCain is not enough. He has to get them to actually show up and vote. For HIM. And he needs them to campaign for him.

Like it or not, a rift still exists between the two campaigns and it is incumbent upon Barack Obama to do something about it. Hillary can't do this all by herself. The Obama campaign needs to make some concessions to Clinton's supporters. I don't know what, but Obama needs to do SOMETHING.

If he doesn't, I fear we'll be watching the inauguration of John McCain next January.

I've been watching the convention, and was particularly impressed with Hillary's speech last night. I think the disenchanted will come around by November. The specter of another Republican administration is just too horrible.

It just seems to me - and I could be wrong - that the number of women/people who are maniacal Hillary supporters is not significant - maybe a few thousand - or a few tens of thousands at best - accross the entire country, but a few hundred of them get themselves on TV and set up blogs and give the impression of some mass movement that just isn't there.

IOW, I think time spent on "worrying" excessively about Hillary people coming/not coming around is just time wasted. Such time would be better spent getting the word out about why Obama is such a great candidate for President and why John McCain is such a horrible one.

That was an amazing speech. That is what we need in a president, someone who is strong and thoughtful. Someone that seeks to uplift us and not pull us down with negative campaigns of personal attacks. Obama/Biden '08!

Yes, I agree. Obama is inspiring AND inspired. The last president of his likes was John Kennedy. Not to mention, A Giant step in American history has been taken.
Praise God
