It appears with the endorsement today of Bill Richardson, (D) Gov. NM. the only hispanic Governer in the US, Sen. Obama will be the democratic presidential nominee.
I'm not thrilled with Sen. Obama or Sen. McCain as candidates for POTUS.
Would the Sen. Obama supporters explain why he should be president and please be specific, I.E position on national defense, the economy, his ability to unite all Americans, etc.
Thanks.
I listened to it, understood it, and even thought it was a great speech. It's a shame Rev. Wright didn't make more sermons like that. While I'm sure one speech byBarack Obama recently gave a speech on race and race relations. All you had to do is listen to it and understand it.

Most Americans haven't actually watched the sermon. Most Americans are content with listening to nothing but isolated sound bites that say nothing worthwhile about the contents of the speaker's message. Many Americans are, frankly, totally unwilling or unable to think critically about important issues like this. Most Americans find Wrights comments offensive and divisive.
You want that right? Work for it. Before the American people can demand that sort of reciprocation, they have an obligation to actually learn about what was said. Until they have a proper understanding about what actually took place, they do not have the right to force an explanation from anyone. In fact, demanding such an explanation without an adequate understanding of the background is dangerous. If Obama wants to hold the highest office in this land, we have a right, and an obligation, to find out just how much Wright's vitriol has influenced him, and shouldn't apologize for it, nor be attacked for it.
Absolutely not. When the American people have done the requisite work, they'll have earned their explanation. Until then, they can suffer the fruits of their laziness.Isn't that a sentence you'd agree with?
Like JGL53 said, the Issues portion of www.barackobama.com/index.php is the best place to find out his positions. The Blueprint for Change document contains concise summaries of all of his plans, including everything you mentioned. It appears with the endorsement today of Bill Richardson, (D) Gov. Well, I'll just let Gov. Richardson give you some hint:

And you can check out the "Issues" link on Obama's wedsite if you are one of those over-educated intellectual types that like that sort of stuff.
Alright, maybe we can get some where.
Exactly how has Wright's antagonistic views manifest in Obama's political record or his long record of speeches?
I was kind of looking for examples, some substance, and not persay another claim. Does Rev Wallis provide an example?
Well, what are you looking for? Legislation with footnotes that say 'inspired by Rev. Jeremiah Wright'? They have a long history together- Obama converted to Christianity in Wright's church and was under Wright spirtual guidance for 2 decades. Obama SAID Wright had 'great' influence over him, appointed him to his committee, used his words for the title of his book, and has made several remarks that wouldn't be out of place in a Wright sermon. Dismiss Walls all you like, but Walls knows both of them better than you or I ever will, and he doesn't just claim influence, but a strong one as well.I would still like to see this question asked twice, now thrice, but never answered responded to?
Obama clearly has a long record of speeches, he wrote a book, and has written and sponsored both state and federal legislation.
What is it in Obama's actions that shows any signs that his relationship is one where it garners fear of influence?
Bueller? Bueller? anyone?????
I think Obama is a candidate of the highest caliber. I plan on voting for him for president.
I think being in Iraq for the next 100 years is a stupid idea - especially from a guy who may be senile as he can't tell one Muslim or Arab group from another.
Obama '08
he explicitly said his grandmother wasn't a racist a couple of breaths before ( actually, doesn't harbor "racial animosity" )... i'm not actually sure how this is implying that most white people are racist... Eitherway if you put the quote in context you can kindof understand the point he is making, but poor choice of words, anyway...He threw his grandmother under the bus, for political gain, and by stating that she was a "typical white person" implied that most, if not all white people are racist.
Yeah, some on here claimed that most white folks WERE afraid/anxious around other cultures, so I asked for proof of such.He threw his grandmother under the bus, for political gain, and by stating that she was a "typical white person" implied that most, if not all white people are racist.
While I see you busily proving your political pomposity, the rest of us will be taking the time to actually look at the message that Obama is talking about and learn something about the man and his vision for America.Yeah, some on here claimed that most white folks WERE afraid/anxious around other cultures, so I asked for proof of such,
You know, I'm still waiting.
Well, here's a tip, D- the past writes the future. What Obama did in the past tells you what he will do in the future. I learned that during the 1992 election. While I see you busily proving your political pomposity, the rest of us will be taking the time to actually look at the message that Obama is talking about and learn something about the man and his vision for America.
And in the past, Obama united people as he worked for those in need. That's his past history which I'd expect to see as his future history. That's a part of his history that you will not touch.Well, here's a tip, D- the past writes the future. What Obama did in the past tells you what he will do in the future. Busily proving my political pomposity.
And ALSO in the past he ignored hundreds of churches to attend church run by a racist, ignorant pastor for 20 years, and placed himself under the spiritual leadership of this man for just as long. And in the past, Obama united people as he worked for those in need.
Really? I won't touch it? I've never even heard of it before. Speaking of past history, he put Wright on his Spiritual Advisory Comittee not one year ago. Can you explain to me why he silmoutaneously asked Wright to be on a Spiritual Advisory Comittee and swept him under the rug? (You know, DLamberth- "You can get kind of rough in the sermons, so what we’ve decided is that it’s best for you not to be out there in public.” ...but I'm going to go ahead and put you on my Spritual Advisory Committee)This is what I'm talking about . If you're truly 'repentant' for something, you abandon it when you think it's wrong, not when it affects your campaign.Sorry you did it VS. sorry you got caught, you know what I mean? That's his past history which I'd expect to see as his future history. That's a part of his history that you will not touch.
