It appears with the endorsement today of Bill Richardson, (D) Gov. NM. the only hispanic Governer in the US, Sen. Obama will be the democratic presidential nominee.

I'm not thrilled with Sen. Obama or Sen. McCain as candidates for POTUS.

Would the Sen. Obama supporters explain why he should be president and please be specific, I.E position on national defense, the economy, his ability to unite all Americans, etc.

I listened to it, understood it, and even thought it was a great speech. It's a shame Rev. Wright didn't make more sermons like that. While I'm sure one speech by
Obama is enough to settle the question for you and his other supporters, for those of us looking at things more objectively, deeds are more important than words.

I'd love to see the people this nation get along, overcome stereotypes, learn to treat each other with love and respect. But seeing as how Obama is labeling 'typical
white people' those who are made afraid or anxious by people of other cultures, claiming 'white mans greed ruined a world in need', and has been under this mans
spiritual leadership for two decades, I'm forced to wonder if he plans on being part of the solution, or like, Rev. Wright, part of the problem.

Until they have a proper understanding about what actually took place, they do not have the right to force an explanation from anyone. Absolutely not. When the American people have done the requisite work, they'll have earned their explanation. Until then, they can suffer the fruits of their laziness.

Like JGL53 said, the Issues portion of www.barackobama.com/index.php is the best place to find out his positions. The Blueprint for Change document contains concise summaries of all of his plans, including everything you mentioned.

What exactly could you bookend 'AIDS was created by whites to destroy people of color' with to make it palatable, Dannager?

Did most of America listen to all of Trent Lott's speech to 'get some perspective'? Or was he removed from office under fire from Obama, among others?
How about Don Imus? If Trinity United really feels that the offending comments aren't so bad in context, they're free to release the whole sermon.
From what I can hear from those who have heard it, the context makes no difference. Enlighten us as to why it does, Dannager. Trinity has already
admitted to basing it's tenets on Liberation Theology and Cone's writings. It's not that much of a stretch that blaming whites for every evil, real or
imaginary, would follow, and indeed it seems to.

Thanks for the link & Sen. Obamas "Issues" link. I would hope to think everyone would be interested in a presidential candidates position on important issues that will affect all citizens of the United States. Not just "over-educated intellectual types that like that sort of stuff".

Well, what are you looking for? Legislation with footnotes that say 'inspired by Rev. Jeremiah Wright'? They have a long history together- Obama converted to Christianity in Wright's church and was under Wright spirtual guidance for 2 decades. Obama SAID Wright had 'great' influence over him, appointed him to his committee, used his words for the title of his book, and has made several remarks that wouldn't be out of place in a Wright sermon. Dismiss Walls all you like, but Walls knows both of them better than you or I ever will, and he doesn't just claim influence, but a strong one as well.

Well, now that it's been proven Wright was repeating what a former ambassador had to say about the chickens roosting let's add another fact. It is not the rantings of an ignorant lunatic to claim we created aids. Dr. Horowitz had his findings on the origin of aid published in Medical Hypothesis, which is a respected medical journal. Horowitz concluded Hep B vaccines given to gays and blacks in 74 was the cause of aids by the injections having adverse reactions to peeps who had polio vaccines.

Considering all the defamation thrown at Wright based on conclusions drawn from soundbites, it appears some retractions are in order. Iam not naive enough to believe sincere apologies will happen but at least peeps should admit what wright has said is not 'way out there.' It only sounds shocking to the uneducated. Same thing happened when peeps tried to point out the earth wasnt flat.

Take a trip over to Cambodia and Laos. Ask anyone in any city why there are no birds or rodents or snakes. After they get done done telling how desperately poor they are ask where the killing fields are. Everyone will give you a different answer because there are so many. Ask why things got this bad and they'll tell you that things are tremendously improved but it takes time after the brutality that filled the vacuum from the Americans leaving.

You can talk about we shouldn't have gone to iraq and you may be right, but it takes a willful blindness bordering on insanity to think we should leave in less than a generation.

Obama needs to read up on south east asia. He's either playing the base for dupes or is, himself, a moron. This issue alone that you brought up is a good enough reason that no one should vote for him.

Too funny watching Keith wax psycotic over Geraldine Ferarro's racial "gaffe" and apologize away for Rev. Wright's.
The most glaring inconsistency: That there's no reason for Obama to throw Wright "under the bus," but that mere
"distancing" from Ferarro is not good enough for Clinton. In that case, she must (stage voice, fiery anger) "reject
and denounce Geraldine Ferarro." So reminiscent of Obama double standard concerning Imus's gaffe.

"I understand MSNBC has suspended Mr. Imus," Obama told ABC News, "but I would also say that there's nobody
on my staff who would still be working for me if they made a comment like that about anybody of any ethnic group..."

Take a look at his Spiritual Advisory Committee. Wright is just the tip of the iceberg.

he explicitly said his grandmother wasn't a racist a couple of breaths before ( actually, doesn't harbor "racial animosity" )... i'm not actually sure how this is implying that most white people are racist... Eitherway if you put the quote in context you can kindof understand the point he is making, but poor choice of words, anyway...

What would we do without live television gaffes anyway?

Really? I won't touch it? I've never even heard of it before. Speaking of past history, he put Wright on his Spiritual Advisory Comittee not one year ago. Can you explain to me why he silmoutaneously asked Wright to be on a Spiritual Advisory Comittee and swept him under the rug? (You know, DLamberth- "You can get kind of rough in the sermons, so what we’ve decided is that it’s best for you not to be out there in public.” ...but I'm going to go ahead and put you on my Spritual Advisory Committee)This is what I'm talking about .
