i don't either
not the flag of anyplace. i will stand up with everyone, but i do not say the pledge of allegiance. not here, and not at home because my allegiance is to Almighty God only. if someone wants to salute the flag, it is their right to do so, but i don't do it.

My pastor tried to tell me this on Sunday and I thought he was screwy. I have to read snopes and see what they are saying.

I really didn't much care for him anyway...LOL

I don't think so ... his votes would get kind of slim. The good ole USA has already done that with coins.

"In God we trust" is now on the edge of the coins where it can of course wear off in time ...

We have a lot of people in the US trying to destroy our core values and beliefs. Anything that looks like they want to destroy our heritage and the beliefs of our founding fathers puts up red flags.

This country was founded on Christian beliefs which the "In God we trust" represents - many people have died in defense of our flag and country and it means much to most of the US.

Tradition....peer pressure....the fear of being ostracised for not conforming.... those are the reasons I can think of.

We look at the UK and ask the same about the monarchy there.

I guess both things are symbols of who we are and what we believe.

I do believe that there is an unhealthy mix of Christianity with America & Democracy in many American Evangelicals.

I love my country and I’m blessed to be an American, but I am a citizen of the kingdom of God first.
