I'm planning to attend there as an undergraduate freshman at the Division of Bible and Christian Ministry this fall, meaning I start classes next week. I have a bit of a problem, because I registered last week and also did my FAFSA and TAP just last week as well and I know I shouldn't be worried but I'm afraid of the financial issues I might have because tuition there for a year is more than my mom makes in a year. Besides that, I've never been there and I don't even know if they've accepted me but a Pastor that went there tells me they definitely will. I haven't mailed my transcript and Pastor's recommendation yet which I will do today when the Post Office opens and use the fastest service they have so that Nyack may recieve them by tomorrow. I've already sent them my SAT scores through Collegeboard. I've never been there but people tell me it's high up in the mountains or something so I'm wondering how I will get a job and access the internet and phone from my dorm room? I also heard there is a big spiritual battle because in the mountains there are people doing witchcraft around our school and other scary stuff. I wonder what they will say about my transcript. My SATs scores are like 620 for Math and 590 for Verbal, and from 9-10 grade my average was around 85/100 and 11th grade was like 56/100 and went back up to about 70/100 and my senior year was also a total disaster averaging about 70/100 for the whole year. My cumulative average however, (weighted) is 78/100. So what do you guys think? Will I make it through all 4 years? I am also planning on going to the Alliance of Theological Seminary also in Nyack after I graduate. Also my mom makes between 21,000 and 22,000 net income every year and I am told Nyack will not pay all of my tuition and dorm and food expenses and federal aid will also not pay it all so I am worried about that as well mostly
It costs about $24,000 to attend there. My mom makes about $21,000 - $22,000 a year net income. I get $5,000 a year from TAP and FAFSA estimates my EFC like 300 or something. Then I have to include my food expenses and stuff, laundry costs, and phone bill. I think that's about it since I don't drive. Anyone knowledgeable in finances give me some suggestions or maybe I should not go to college and go to a community college for free?
