Hi guys,
I'm afraid i'm not meant to be in this forum as i'm in the UK, but wondered if anybody could give me a few pointers in the right direction...

I'm thinking about coming with a friend in a few years time to study nursing at a University in Sydney. I've checked out things on the web, and it looks like i have a choice of either the USYD (university of sydney, i think???) or UTS (university of technology, sydney.... me thinks???). Just like over here, i'd guess it would be impossible to know what a place would really be like unless i visited and got to know people there, but due to the rather large distance i'm afraid i can't just pop down under and see you lovely people all that soon.
Therefore, i'm asking:
~ has anyone been to either of those?
~ what are they like?
~ can i expect to do well if i go there?
~ do either of them have a good/bad reputation?

Thank you in advance for all your help, i'm a bit lost otherwise...!
Take care

both are good (i'd go UTS) but sydney uni is trying to get ride of it's nursing i think. basically it's not profitable enough and due to government cut backs in funding i assume that eventually they will ditch it an move into a private college arangements. that said if you have the cash that will no be a problem.

Not sure if you're totally set on Sydney, but I'm a New Zealander and came to Melbourne to study nursing at the University of Melbourne. I did an accelerated graduate-entry programme, but they do offer a 3-year Bachelor course as well. It was an excellent course at a university that has an attractive reputation.
Melbourne is also an exciting place to live, and I'm still here :)

hey, didn't Sydney uni scrap the nursing course already? students ended up cramming UTS places for it.

I go to UTS, and it's a very nice and friendly place. (great location too, and now that they have a new building for science students...)
